Knowledge may be power, but having the wisdom and foresight to use this knowledge to transform lives, organizations and even nations-that is leadership. And that is the heart of our Ph.D. program. The Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership is a research-based terminal degree that seeks to immediately facilitate the leadership abilities and roles of strategic mid-career professionals and entrepreneurs through its multidisciplinary theoretical approach, enabling professionals to influence, invigorate and launch organizations around the world.

Conducted online, the Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership uses autonomous learning methods that require students to learn independently, but not alone. Our values-oriented educational perspective is based on a biblical foundation and Christian worldview, providing a substantive distinctive in this program. Students focus their doctoral studies by selecting one of five majors.

Entrepreneurial Leadership Major
Course Requirements
Designed to advance the study of entrepreneurship in the global marketplace, the Entrepreneurial Leadership major explores the depths of entrepreneurship and the leadership dynamics that drive the field with in-depth courses in marketing, finance, operations and human resource management. While concentrating on HR management, innovation and communication, this major also addresses the economic effect of entrepreneurial activity. Students will be prepared to teach organizational leadership or entrepreneurial studies at the university level or conduct research in association with governments, corporations and think tanks.

   

Global Leadership Major
Course Requirements
The Global Leadership major provides an emphasis on the dynamics associated with leadership and transnational organizations. Students examine the role of cultural contexts in leadership including anthropological, biblical, psychological and sociological aspects, as well as the driving factors leading to individual, group, and organizational growth and development in a global environment. The Global Leadership major uses a European tutorial method best suited to students with advanced professional standing and a record of publications.
 

Human Resource Development Major
Course Requirements
Designed to advance the field of HRD, the Human Resource Development major concentrates on HRD theory, individual and organizational learning processes and the various dynamics that contribute to the positive development of an organization's human resources. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, students acquire a breadth of knowledge across the field of human resource development and pursue in-depth research in areas of paramount concern. The HRD major uses a cohort model that incorporates interaction with an instructor and other students.

 

Organizational Leadership Major
Course Requirements
A rigorous and comprehensive study of organizational leadership and the many associated disciplines comprising this multidisciplinary field, the Organizational Leadership major prepares students to influence the field of leadership through scholarly research, academia and other influential leadership positions. The Organizational Leadership major uses a cohort model that incorporates interaction with an instructor and other students.

 

 

University Teaching & Research Major
Course Requirements
Designed to prepare students as university and college faculty members, the University Teaching & Research major provides additional coursework in the field of higher education, enhancing one's teaching effectiveness and providing a deeper foundation in academic research. Students pursuing this major will invest the majority of their studies in the area of organizational leadership, acquiring a broad knowledge and expertise of the field including theory, trends and applications leading to improved organizational development. The University Teaching & Research major uses a cohort model that incorporates interaction with an instructor and other students.
