*** For the 2020-21 academic year, all appointments with the nurse practitioner must be made in advance. No walk-in appointments are permitted. All patients must wear face coverings when seen by the nurse practitioner. ***
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that students and employees schedule a telehealth appointment instead of an in-person appointment. A virtual appointment provides an extra level of care and precaution to both the patient and the provider. A telehealth appointment must be scheduled in advance by calling the Health Center at 757.352.4953.
A nurse practitioner is available to all on-campus students, inclusive of those residing in campus housing as well as commuters (both undergraduate and graduate), who are in need of minor healthcare services on campus. The nurse practitioner can provide a higher level of care than a nurse and has the authority to write prescriptions. A portion of the University Services Fees for on-campus students grants students the ability to visit the Health Center as many times as necessary. If additional care is needed, students have access to physician partners nearby on Providence Road at Sentara Family Medicine Physicians Please note: allergy shots cannot be administered on campus.
Visit The Health Center, virtually or in-person, if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Cold & Flu
- Ear Infection
- Sinus Infection
- Other Minor Injuries/Illnesses
The Health Center is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The last appointment time for new patients is 4:30 p.m. The last appointment time for current patients requiring a follow-up visit is 4:45 p.m. The center is closed when the university is closed for various holidays, including Christmas break when the university shuts down during emergency closures due to weather or other unexpected events.
Students and employees who may need to be tested for COVID-19 during the academic year must contact the University Health Center in advance to schedule an appointment and receive further instructions. Please call 757.352.4953 to schedule an appointment with the nurse practitioner. The Health Center’s operating hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and is located at the Regent Commons residence halls. The Health Center is located in building “9” on the campus map found here. The physical address is 1117 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
Because of the unique mission and resources associated with Regent University, a number of centers have been developed to engage in those activities that further extend our outreach and influence in the world.

When the University is closed because of inclement weather, the shuttle will not be in service. If the University has a delayed opening, the shuttle will begin operating 20 minutes prior to the opening time and will run for one hour. After that, the shuttle will resume its regular schedule. If the University closes early, every effort will be made to run the shuttle for 40 minutes (two loops around campus) at the time of closure. Our ability to run the shuttle at the time of early closure is dependent on driver availability and safe driving conditions. If the driving conditions become unsafe, shuttle service will be stopped immediately.
