Chris Easterly, MFA

Bio

Chris Easterly is a screenwriter and independent filmmaker. A graduate of the prestigious Warner Brothers Television Writers Workshop, he has written TV dramas and feature films for Fox, Cartoon Network, NBC, Hallmark Channel, and others. He is a member of the Writers Guild of America-West and is represented by Bauman Management in Los Angeles.

Easterly wrote the books The Catholic Runner and Falling Forward: A Man’s Memoir of Divorce, which was selected as an exclusive Amazon Kindle Single. He is a graduate of the Act One: Writing for Hollywood program, and currently mentors Act One students. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from Asbury University.

In addition to writing and producing features and television, Easterly has also written documentaries, including the acclaimed 2020 film Carl Lutz: Dangerous Diplomacy. Most recently, he wrote and directed the feature film Devil’s Hollow, a Southern Gothic crime drama set to be released in 2022.

As author Frederick Buechner writes: “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” The world hungers for well-told stories, and Easterly, finds his deep gladness and vocation in sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring Christian visual storytellers.
