www.salliemae.com gives information on educational funding.

www.fafsa.ed.gov takes you to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid webpage. This application is required to be considered for student loans, and there are links to other useful information on the site.

Five Steps to Smooth the Financial Process

1. Read/Research. Look everywhere you can think of for sources of aid. Read all directions carefully and supply all required materials when applying for aid.

2. Apply. Don't assume you won't get any aid. Don't miss deadlines, beat them.

3. Keep copies of EVERYTHING!

4. Find out what each source of aid requires. They are all different. Is this a one-time award? Is it renewable? What must I do to re-qualify?

5. Get help. Ask university personnel when you're not sure.
