Award Enrollment Requirements

Many scholarships, loans, and grants require enrollment in a specific number of credit hours before they will apply to your account. Below you will find how many credits you must be enrolled in to be considered full-time, three quarter time, half-time, and less than half-time. Please refer to your award terms in Genisys for your particular award’s enrollment requirement.

* Note: Certain merit scholarships are eligible to be prorated if you are enrolled less than full-time in your last semester. Please contact the Student Financial Aid office for more information.

  • Full-time – 12+ Credits
  • ¾ time – 9 to 11 credits
  • ½ time – 6 to 8 credits
  • Less than ½ time – 5 credits or less
  • Full-time – 9+ Credits
  • ¾ time – 7-8 credits
  • ½ time – 5-6 credits
  • Less than ½ time – 4 credits or less
  • Full-time – 6+ Credits
  • ½ time – 3-4 credits
  • ¾ time – 5 credits
  • Less than ½ time – 2 credits or less
  • Full-time – 10+ Credits
  • ¾ time – 8-9 credits
  • ½ time – 5-7 credits
  • Less than ½ time – 4 credits or less
  • Full-time – 6+ Credits
  • ¾ time – 5 credits
  • ½ time – 3-4 credits
  • Less than ½ time – 2 credits or less
  • Full-time – 6+ Credits
  • ¾ time – 5 credits
  • ½ time – 3-4 credits
  • Less than ½ time – 2 credits or less

*Exception: For Federal aid purposes, students enrolled in 1-3 credit hour dissertations are considered half-time and are eligible to receive loan disbursements. Students in their dissertations are may also be eligible to have their scholarships pro-rated. Please contact the Student Financial Aid office to see if your scholarship is eligible for pro-ration.
