Important Notes

  • Regent University-based scholarships, discounts and awards cannot be combined. If eligible for more than one award, Regent will award the highest scholarship amount. The two exceptions to this are the Church Match Grant and Carson Scholarship Match.
  • Application for Regent University-based scholarships, discounts and awards must be received no later than two weeks prior to the start of a term.
  • Admitted students are eligible to apply for Regent University based scholarships, discounts and awards once official notification of acceptance is received.
  • Regent College of Arts & Sciences reserves the right to change or alter any scholarship requirements, deadlines or award amounts.
  • All Regent University-based scholarships, discounts and awards are issued on a first come-first served basis and are based upon funds available.

For Students Using VA Benefits

University policy restricts institutional financial aid (scholarships/grants) from paying more than 100% of tuition when combined with certain non-Regent awards. Should your GI Bill® cover 100% of your tuition costs, there are certain situations in which your GI Benefit will take precedence over any institutional scholarships or grants for which you might otherwise qualify. Examples of this are:

  • Yellow Ribbon eligible students

Should your status for 100% eligibility change, or you reach the annual tuition and fees cap, you would then be able to utilize your institutional scholarship or grant.

Under certain circumstances, your VA Benefits may be used in conjunction with other institutional awards for which you may qualify. Examples of this are:

  • All students whose Post-9/11 GI Bill® whose percentage of eligibility is less than 100% (Regent awards will be reduced to the combined maximum of 100% tuition).

The purpose of this policy is to best utilize the annual tuition and fees cap set by the VA and have minimum impact on the semester cost for students.

For Students Using the Yellow Ribbon Program

Regent University has partnered with the Veterans Affairs (VA) Administration to offer the Yellow Ribbon Program Scholarship to students with 100% eligibility under the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.

  • The Yellow Ribbon Program at Regent University will cover 100% of tuition and fees over the Post-9/11 GI Bill® yearly tuition cap (50% funded by Regent University and 50% funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.)
  • All students with 100% Post 9/11 GI Bill® eligibility are eligible for Yellow Ribbon. Effective August 1, 2022, Active Duty service members and their spouses are eligible for Yellow Ribbon.
  • The cap on Yellow Ribbon funds is currently unlimited for all programs.
  • Because the Yellow Ribbon award is a form of Regent University institutional aid, it cannot be combined with any other Regent University scholarships or discounts.
  • In accordance with our institutional aid policies, when a student is eligible for more than one Regent award, Regent will award the highest scholarship amount. Because the Yellow Ribbon award is unlimited for all programs, the Yellow Ribbon Award is usually the greatest award.
  • Yellow Ribbon participants will not receive the military tuition discount. The Yellow Ribbon award will be applied in lieu of the military tuition discount.
