Why Regent after the iTeach Program?

Build on your iteach Program Professional Studies Courses and Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) Teacher License to open doors to new opportunities in education. With our iteach partnership, you can transfer up to 12 credits into our flexible Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) in Teaching. Our M.Ed. in Teaching program is designed for educators who want to leverage what they’ve learned to advance their careers with new endorsements and options.

*In lieu of the one of the grade level practicum courses (ESTP 580A, 580B, 580C), a teacher seeking this endorsement can work with their school division licensure specialist and the VDOE to verify one year of successful, full-time teaching experience with students with disabilities accessing the general curriculum in a public or an accredited nonpublic school, and provided the teacher is assigned a mentor holding a valid license with an endorsement in special education.

VDOE no longer requires licensing, but these courses are instrumental in helping students pass the required ESL VDOE endorsement.

Yes, some electives may transfer directly into Ed.S., Ed.D. or Ph.D. programs. The Educational Leadership M.Ed, for example, transfers up to 49% of Regent University master’s credits. This flexibility can help students save on tuition costs and this program leads to the VDOE endorsement in Administration and supervision preK-12.
