Paul Burke
Professional Stunt Coordinator/Fight Director/Performer

Paul is an Instructor with the IDCA Irelands National Stage Combat Society and a qualified Stunt Coordinator with Stunt Register Ireland. He was fight coordinator on multiple episodes on Season 1 and 2 of Fox TV’s Sleepy Hollow. Other film and television work include Hammer of the GodsBanshee, and The Tudors. Paul was Travis Fimmel’s stunt double for 3 Seasons of History Channels Vikings. Theatre fight choreography includes the world premieres of Conor MacPherson’s The Night Alive at the Donmar Theatre London and Sam Shepard’s Ages of the Moon at the National Theatre Of Ireland.

Michael Chin
Professional Fight Director/Actor/Student Performer

Michael G. Chin is a Fight Master with The Society of American Fight Directors, He is a member of AEA, SAG/AFTRA, and SDC He has choreographed violence and fights on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off Off-Broadway, and in Regional Theatres around the country.  He has taught stage combat at The Juilliard School and for The United Stuntman Association in Seattle, Mr. Chin is currently adjunct faculty at Brooklyn College,-Graduate Division and  Pace University both in New York City and at Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA. He also works as a professional actor and stuntman.

Fran Clabaugh
Professional Editor

Fran Clabaugh began her Hollywood career as an assistant editor at Action International Pictures where she quickly gained an understanding of the art of action editing. Since then she has worked as a full editor on the action feature Little Chicago and the sci-fi action thriller Eyeborgs. She has conducted editing workshops for the Jacksonville Film Festival and is co-owner of Crimson Wolf Productions, an independent production company located in North Carolina. She edited the feature film Nightmare Box, shot in London, England by director Jon Keeyes.

Richard Clabaugh
Director, Cinematographer

Richard Clabaugh has been a cinematographer and director on numerous features and worked with such talents as Russell Crowe, Viggo Mortensen, Christopher Walken, Ben Affleck, and Peter O’Toole. He was the director of the feature films, Python, Little Chicago and Eyeborgs. He was an instructor at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking for nearly 10-years and currently runs productions companies Crimson Wolf and RedCom Productions producing original motion-picture, television and web content.

Dale Girard
Professional Student Coordinator/Student Performer

Dale Girard is also a certified Fight Master with Fight Directors Canada (FDC) and co-founder of the North Carolina Stuntmen’s Association; author of Actors on Guard; and director of stage combat studies for North Carolina School of the Arts. Dale also served the role of Sankur and served as second unit director and stunt coordinator for the film Eyeborgs. Dale is currently serving as stunt coordinator on Gary Wheeler’s The Trial starring Matthew Modine

Jacqueline Holloway
Professional Fight Choreographer; Instructor

Jacqueline Holloway is a fight choreographer and movement designer. She has had the opportunity to work throughout the U.S., Canada and Northern Europe, as well as On & Off Broadway and Vanity Fair magazine. She runs and teaches the Philadelphia chapter of Galhalla, an all-female fight group that originated in NYC. Galhalla’s focus is to provide an empowering safe and supportive space for women to train stage combat and stunt work with other like-minded women in the industry. Additionally, she offers weekly training and workshops open to all genders looking to train in combat for stage and film with her own company, Arte Violenta.
She is a certified teacher and Instructor with the Society of American Fight Directors and Fight Directors Canada.

Casey Kaleba
Professional Fight Director, Instructor

Casey Kaleba has arranged for more than 400 professional and academic productions. He has staged fights for regional theatres including the Folger Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Round House Theatre, Studio Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, and Signature Theatre. Academic productions include Georgetown, American, Gallaudet, and Catholic Universities along with the University of Maryland in both College Park and Baltimore County. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for the University of Maryland, George Mason University, Shepherd University, Catholic University, Regent, and Old Dominion University, as well as serving as a regular guest artist for the Shakespeare Theatre and Folger Library. Casey has been a guest for Fight Directors Canada and the Nordic Stagefight Society; an instructor at the Paddy Crean Workshop; and has taught at the Winter Wonderland, Carnage in the Corn, Virginia Beach Bash, and coordinated the Bond vs. Bourne and Martial Arts Intensive workshops. An audition choreographer for Marvel Universe Live, he also appears on the web series Men At Arms: Reforged.  He founded Tooth and Claw Combat Arts.

Darrell Rushton
Professional Fight Director, Instructor; Actor

Darrell Rushton is currently an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Frostburg State University.  He has been a Certified Teacher since 2007, a Theatrical Firearms Safety Instructor since 2010, and an SAFD member since his first workshop; the 2000 NSCW.  He has taught stage combat regionally and across the country at the Rumble in the Rockies, Seattle Sockeye, Winter Wonderland Workshop and the NSCW.  He has been Fight Director for numerous productions at Frostburg State, Ball State University (Assistant Professor of Movement and Acting), the Cumberland Theatre, and National Tours with Windwood Theatricals.  Union Member of AEA, AFTRA and SAG, with acting credits in New York, Washington, DC, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida and Maryland.

Nathan Todd Sims
Director, Producer, Writer, Founder/President/CEO of Fusion Productions, SCA Alumnus

Nathan Todd Sims is a prolific award-winning indie filmmaker and innovative entrepreneur. He is currently producing and set to direct the theatrical feature film, PanZareta: Queen of the Turf. His miniseries, Space Mistakes: How NASA Failures Further Exploration will begin airing on Discovery Science
International, PBS America, and AMC International in March/April 2017. His award-winning feature documentaries The Harbinger Decoded and The Mystery of the Shemitah Unlocked were released nationwide to aggressive sales and combined with television audiences have been seen by millions. Previously, Sims’ debut dramatic feature film, Echoes of Innocence, was released theatrically in the top 32 US markets. The film made cinematic history by becoming only the third movie to ever be released digitally nationwide. The groundbreaking theatrical release was followed by nationwide DVD distribution in practically every major DVD and digital outlet in North America. The film has entered international distribution with sales in Spain, New Zealand, Turkey, and Latin America.

Dave White
Tactical Consultant, Fight Director, Instructor

Dave White is a former hostage rescue/drug raid operator (on point) instructor and police officer for 26 years. He has taught and created programs for many law enforcement and military groups such as seal team 4, army intel, FBI Swat, street officers, police academies to training DSS bodyguards for two U.S. Ambassadors. Dave is also currently providing training for the active swat team. After retiring, he took acting lessons and started working on various films. He has worked as a tactical consultant for the Discovery Channel’s Spy Tech, Dominion Pictures, and The FBI files. He has worked on many student films at Regent University as well. He was asked to conduct workshops for the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland and conducted workshops for Stunt Actors on Vikings and Game of Thrones. He has worked as a choreographer in tactics and gun handling to help actors sell the shot.
Dave is certified in Dt, modified wing chun, Conceal Carry, Baton, Knife, Subgun, weapon retention/takeaways, CQB, Hostage rescue, Drug Raids. He has obtained the SAFD Theatrical Safety Firearms certification. Dave has a Facebook page called “Tactical Film Fighting Academy” and conducts more in-depth workshops for actors and stunt actors in the Hampton Roads area and beyond.

Corbin BernsenActor, Director, Producer

Corbin Bernsen stars as Henry Spencer on the USA Network’s hit original series Psych. He was first catapulted to stardom during the 1980s by the hit NBC TV show L.A. Law, and from the late 80’s to early 90’s, he appeared on over 50 magazine covers and earned both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, hosted Saturday Night Live, and appeared on Seinfeld and The Larry Sanders Show. Recently, Bernsen has moved to the other side of the camera, directing the films Carpool Guy, Dead Air and Rust, which was distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. With Rust, Bernsen shifted his focus to family friendly movies and formed Home Theater Films. 25 Hill, which he also wrote and directed, is the first title from his newly formed company and was distributed by EchoLight Studios in July 2012. This was followed by 3 Day Test (2012) and Beyond the Heavens (2013), also released by EchoLight Studios. His latest projects include Christian Mingle (2015) and In-Lawfully Yours (2016).  Bernsen lives in Los Angeles with his wife of twenty-nine years, actress Amanda Pays, and their four sons.

Philip Boyd
Actor, Writer

Philip Boyd is an American actor and writer in Los Angeles, CA. He currently can be seen on the OWN Network portraying “Oscar” in his third season of Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and The Have Nots”. He can also be seen on Netflix in the romantic comedy “In-Lawfully Yours” as “Chaz”.

Philip Boyd was born in Conyers, Georgia. After to moving to Los Angeles, CA, Boyd made several TV appearances early in his career before becoming a well-known character on Tyler Perry’s “The Have and The Have Nots”. Philip recently married the Ukrainian model Polina Sikorska in August 2016. Philip Keith Boyd grew up in Conyers, Georgia with his three brothers. Deeply emerged in sports for his formative years, Philip was more interested in following in his Great Grandfather, Dave Harris’s footsteps playing professional baseball. He decided to take a chance and move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. He took acting classes and speech classes to lose his thick Southern accent. In 2006, Boyd shared a “Best Ensemble Cast”m award for his role as “Matt” in “29 Reasons to Run” at the Bare Bones Film Festival. Philip also received a Best Supporting Actor Nominee for his work in “Clones Gone Wild” at the Action on Film Festival in 2009. Chelsey Crisp
Actor

Chelsey is an actress, writer, and producer in Los Angeles, CA.  She currently plays Honey on ABC’sFresh Off the Boat and stars as Jesse in the upcoming romantic comedy Jesse & Naomi. She has recently been seen on New Girl, Mike & Molly, Happy Endings, The Office, and The Joe Schmo Show.  When not doing comedy, she cries (or dies) on shows such as RakeNCISCSI MiamiRizzoli & IslesJourneymanThreshold, and the award-winning film Reconciliation. Chelsey holds a theatre degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and a Shakespeare certificate from The British American Drama Academy. As a writer and director, she spent a year abroad producing shows for Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa. She currently produces comedic projects with Duchess Riot. Tony Hale
Emmy Awarding-winning Actor, SCA Alumnus

Actor/author Tony Hale is best known for his role as Gary Walsh, the downtrodden personal aide to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Vice President Selina Meyers on HBO’s Emmy nominated political comedy, Veep. In 2013, Hale won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and was nominated again in 2014 and 2015 for his performance. Regent University’s first feature length film

Following both the death of her father-in-law and a divorce, Jesse, a New Yorker, returns to a small town to live with her now widowed mother-in-law. Jesse struggles to fit in with the local townsfolk who don’t welcome her with open arms, to say the least. Jesse becomes acquainted with the local pastor, her widowed brother-in-law, falling in love with him, much to the dismay of the community. Things get even more complicated when her ex-husband comes calling, suspiciously trying to win her back. Between her love life and entangled in-laws, Jesse is tested as she seeks the answer to where she truly belongs.

Mary Lou Henner

The Vessel (Film Screening)

A tidal wave destroys a small-town elementary school and washes 46 children out to sea. Ron Maxwell

Ronald F. Maxwell is an independent film director and writer from Clifton, New Jersey. Tim Bell is an SAFD Certified Teacher and a professional actor and stuntman. Tim has been performing, teaching, and choreographing stage combat for more than ten years. He has performed as an actor and stuntman for television and film, live stunt shows, and outdoor dramas. Paul Burke
Fight Choreographer/Coordinator

Originally hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Paul Burke is a full member of Stunt Guild Ireland and an instructor with the Irish Dramatic Combat Academy. He has done choreographed fights for theatre, television, and movies. Theatre fight choreography includes Ages of the Moon (world premiere) by Sam Shepard, National Theatre of Ireland and Off-Broadway, Billy Roche’s Lay Me Down Softly (world premiere) directed by Wilson Milam, and Last Days of a Reluctant Tyrant by Tom Murphy. In 2008 Paul was fight coordinator and consultant for the Irish television docudrama Feuds, which covered the modern Irish Traveler/Tinker communities’ clan rivalries that commonly result in bare-knuckle boxing matches and can lead to all-out faction fights. Recent film/TV work includes Vikings on the History Channel. Paul was also assistant coordinator to Richard Ryan in the film Hammer of the Gods.

T. Fulton Burns
Director of Acting & Performance

Fulton Burns is the director of acting and performance at the University of South Alabama’s Department of Dramatic Arts. Prior to his arrival at USA he instructed at The University of Montana and Illinois College. He attended Winthrop University where he earned his BA in Theatre and completed his graduate work at Western Illinois University (MFA) specializing in Directing for the Stage. His directing credits include, but are not limited to, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, The Compleat Wrks of WLLM SHKSPR: abridgedThe Serpent, and Man of La Mancha. He has received the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s Certificate of Merit for his work as a Director with Amadeus and Anything Goes.

Also, Burns has collaborated with The Living Theatre, worked professionally with Moises Kaufman as an assistant director and with Cirque du Soleil’s production of Quidam.

Jill Matarelli Carlson
SAFD Certified Teacher

Jill Matarelli-Carlson, an SAFD Certified Teacher, is an assistant professor at East Carolina University and teaches movement, stage combat, acting, and theatre history. She has worked as an entertainment cast member for Walt Disney World and co-founded The Odyssey Express Touring Theatre Company. Jill has worked professionally all over the United States as both an actor and fight choreographer.

Michael Chin

Michael G. Chin is a professional actor (AEA, AFTRA, SAG) and a sanctioned master instructor and choreographer with the Society of American Fight Directors. He is a student of Northern Style, Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu. Chin serves as fight director in residence for both The White Horse and Pan Asian Rep in NYC. He has taught/choreographed/consulted in the NYC area on Broadway, NYU, The Public, and The Classical Theatre of Harlem. Nationally he has worked at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Theatre, Brown University, and Yale School of Drama, among others. Chin currently teaches at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, Juilliard, and also teaches privately for Fights4, all in New York City.

Dale Girard
SAFD Certified Fight Master

Dale Girard is a certified fight master with the SAFD and Fight Directors Canada (FDC). He is also co-founder of the North Carolina Stuntmen’s Association, author of Actors on Guard, and director of stage combat studies for North Carolina School of the Arts. Dale appears in the role of Sankur and served as second unit director and stunt coordinator for the film Eyeborgs. He is currently serving as stunt coordinator on Gary Wheeler’s The Trial starring Matthew Modine.

Ronald F. Maxwell is an independent film director and writer from Clifton, New Jersey. He is most famous for writing and directing the American Civil War epics Gettysburg (1993) and Gods and Generals (2003). His 2013 film Copperheadfreshly extended that mural into the more intimate realm of small town American life, where the conflicts hundreds of miles from the battlefields are no less vigorous or heart-breaking. Dave White
Martial Arts Instructor

Dave White is a certified instructor in Wing Chun Kung Fu and has been teaching for over 20 years. He is a 26 year law enforcement veteran and served as a “point-man” on a hostage rescue team. He has taught and created programs for many law enforcement and military groups. He has worked as a tactical consultant for the Discovery Channel’s Spy Tech, Dominion Pictures, and The FBI Files. Dave has also worked on many student films at Regent University. He will be continuing his training in acting at The Actor’s Place in Virginia Beach, VA. Along with acting he has written, acted in, and directed a small film titled Wiseman that will showcase local actors and his non-classical version of Wing Chun in several fight scenes. He is working towards starting a business that involves self-defense, fitness, and a program to teach actors tactics and fighting skills for film.

Mike Yahn
SAFD Certified Teacher

Mike Yahn is a certified teacher through the Society of American Fight Directors, a partner in Combat Incorporated, and a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is known for his work in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), and Sherlock Holmes (2009). Moreover, his fight choreography has been seen at Second Stage Theatre, Playwrights Horizons Theatre, Theatre for a New Audience, the New York Film Academy, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York University, NYC Fringe Festival, the New England Shakespeare Festival, Close Combat Instructional Videos, and the Pirates of the Caribbean toy commercials. Hooked on stage combat ever since he saw Fight Master J. David Brimmer pretend to destroy a man’s face with an invisible cannon ball, Mike has worked as Brimmer’s assistant both on and off Broadway in such productions as Spring Awakening the MusicalThe Lieutenant of InishmoreBug, and Speed the Plow. He is also an instructor of Wing Tsun (Wing Chun) Kung Fu, traveling from Hong Kong to Budapest studying the art (including a demonstration on Discovery Channel’s Fight Quest). Craig D. Forrest (born July 13, 1956) is an American filmmaker best known for producing, directing, and lensing shows, stories and documentaries that often have involved difficult or dangerous overseas locations while exploring unique subjects ranging from voodoo to the Holocaust to silent film. Todd Sims
Producer, Founder of Fusion Productions, SCA Alumnus

Fusion Productions was founded in 1990 by Todd Sims and his wife Gina M. Sims. Todd, two months out of college, and Gina, just starting her junior year, acquired the rights to a small local cable television series for only $600. The Brownwood Lion Football Review was Fusion Productions’ first venture into professional video production. They turned a profit through ad sales and went on to produce and direct two additional television news programs, one being selected for a national ACTS award. Since then, Fusion Productions has produced numerous projects in the U.S. and abroad, earning thirty domestic and international awards for excellence in production.

Cheryl McKay
Screenwriter, Book Author, SCA Alumna

Cheryl McKay has been professionally writing since 1997. She wrote the screenplay for The Ultimate Gift, based on Jim Stovall’s novel. The award-winning film that stars James Garner, Brian Dennehy, and Abigail Breslin was released in theaters by Fox in 2007. The film won a Crystal Heart Award at the Heartland Film Festival, received three Movieguide nominations, winning one of the Ten Best Family Films of 2007, and won a CAMIE Award for one of the Top Ten Films of the year. Cheryl also wrote the DVD for Gigi: God’s Little Princess, another book adaptation based on the book by Sheila Walsh, as well as the Wild and WackyTotally True Bible Stories audio series and books with Frank Peretti. She wrote a half-hour drama for teenagers about high school violence, called Taylor’s Wall. It was produced in Los Angeles by Family Theater Productions. She wrote a script called Greetings from the Flipside, commissioned by Art Within, after winning a year-long fellowship. It was adapted into a novel for B&H Publishing (with Rene Gutteridge). Her screenplay, Never the Bride, has been adapted into a novel for Random House Publishers and was released in June 2009. The film version is in development. She also wrote the screenplay for A Friend for Maddie.
