On-Campus Doctoral Residency

The School of Business & Leadership is committed to the historical foundations of the doctoral degree in which a scholarly community is created among faculty mentors and student scholars. Regent University mirrors this historical tradition by using student cohorts, intensive on-campus residencies and a variety of interactive discussion modes that extend beyond topical course discourse.

The Ph.D. and DSL programs in the School of Business & Leadership include two required residencies, each covering four days.

First Residency

  • Program Orientation & Guidelines
  • UNIV LIB Information Research & Resources Course
  • In-Class Instruction for the First Two Core Curriculum Courses

Second Residency

  • In-class Instruction for the Semester’s Courses
  • In-class Instruction for Doctoral Program Requirements
    • Comprehensive Exams
    • Doctoral Dissertation (Ph.D. Students)
    • Final Project (DSL Students)

COVID-19 Update: Concerned about travel? Residencies will be held online for your well-being and convenience.

Enrolled students may access the residency schedule, special Founders Inn lodging rates and other residency details by logging in to the student portal.

All students must register for their courses through GENISYS by using the Regent login and password they received from the Regent IT Helpdesk once their enrollment form and deposit were processed following acceptance into the doctoral program. Consult your Approved Degree Plan and academic advisor for registration assistance.

All students are responsible for their own lodging, travel arrangements and incidental expenses associated with the residencies. The Founders Inn & Spa is the student preferred and recommended residency hotel. It is adjacent to Regent University and within walking distance to the entire campus. The School of Business & Leadership works closely with The Founders Inn and has secured a special residency rate. The number of discounted rooms is limited, so early reservations are highly encouraged. Students should plan to arrive the evening before the start of residency and depart after 4:00 pm the final day of residency.
