Regent University Welcomes Students Back to Campus for Fall 2026 Semester

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va (Aug. 24, 2026) — Today, on the first day of classes for the 2026-27 academic year, Regent University welcomes one of its largest freshman classes in history, along with returning students, to the Virginia Beach campus and online around the world. New students have settled into their residence halls, met their roommates, and prepared for life on campus, while returning students have arrived energized and ready to pick up where they left off for another great year at Regent.

“Our students are the very best part of Regent University, and their return brings renewed energy and life to our campus after the summer season,” said Adam Williams, Ed.D., Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Regent University. “We look forward to an impactful and historic year of educating, supporting, and empowering Christian leaders who are called to influence the world for Christ and make a meaningful difference in our culture and times.”

Welcome Week: Embracing the Next Generation of Royals

Last week, new students arrived on campus for move-in on Aug. 17 and 18 to kick off Welcome Week, an orientation event designed to help incoming freshmen and transfer students transition into life at Regent. Throughout the week, students took part in Welcome and Worship in Shaw Chapel, met with academic advisors, connected with their Team Time small groups, and heard from various faculty members.

Highlights included the Ice Cream Social in the 77 Lounge, a Healthy Relationships session, the “Soar — From Start to Finish” Duck Ceremony, and UnChapel, a weekly worship service full of worship, prayer, and preaching from the Campus Ministries team. Welcome Week wrapped up on Aug. 21 with a “Build Your Own Experience” day, giving students the chance to tour campus and attend breakout sessions on academic support, library services, campus ministries, and degree planning.

Family Weekend: Celebrating Regent’s Past, Present, and Future

As students settle into the semester, Regent is already looking ahead to Family Weekend. Held on the weekend of Sept. 18-19, the inaugural event will welcome students, staff, alumni, and their families back to campus for three signature events:

Royals Fest: A celebration featuring the Chili Bowl intramural flag football championship on Robertson Field
Operation Blessing Disaster Relief: A service project in which the Regent community will assemble hygiene kits for communities in need
The Outpouring: A night of worship featuring Grammy-winning artist Joe L Barnes

This year’s Family Weekend also marks the 40th anniversary of the Regent University School of Law, with special programming for Regent Law alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
