Regent University to Host 2026 Family Weekend This September

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (July 15, 2026) — On September 18-19, Regent University will welcome students, staff, alumni, and their families to gather on campus for Regent Family Weekend, a new tradition designed to celebrate the university’s past, present, and future.

The weekend will center on three signature events: Royals Fest, an Operation Blessing outreach event, and a worship night called The Outpouring. In addition, attendees can enjoy campus tours, Regent Royals athletic games, and a prayer breakfast.

Kicking off the weekend on Friday, September 18, from 3:30 to 7 p.m., Royals Fest will celebrate what it means to be a Regent Royal. Students, alumni, staff, and families are invited to wear their Regent gear and cheer on the university’s top intramural flag football teams as they compete in the Royals Fest Chili Bowl at Robertson Field. A chili cookoff, food trucks, and community festivities will round out the evening.

On Saturday, September 19, Regent University will partner with Operation Blessing for a hands-on service project at 10:30 a.m. to provide disaster relief, assembling hygiene kits for communities in need. The event will offer a meaningful and practical way for all to serve alongside fellow Regent Royals.

Saturday evening at 7 p.m., Family Weekend will conclude with The Outpouring, a night set apart for worship and Holy Spirit encounter at Shaw Chapel. The night will feature Grammy Award-winning artist Joe L Barnes, with an additional guest artist to be announced. The free event will be open to the public, but attendees registered for Family Weekend can receive early access to reserve their seats.

The weekend also marks a special milestone for Regent University’s School of Law, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary. This family-friendly celebration is open to Regent Law alumni, faculty, staff, and students and will include lawn games, activities for children, and an opportunity to contribute memories to the School of Law’s 40th anniversary timeline.

“We are excited to welcome the Regent family to campus for this wonderful event and look forward to a special time of celebrating, serving, and worshipping together,” said Adam Williams, Ed.D., Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students. “We are experiencing incredible growth and transformation at the university, and this new annual event reflects who and what we are becoming as Regent Royals, all for God’s glory.”

Family Weekend registration is currently open, with three tiers of general admission — Blue, Green, and Gold — all offering access to central programming, a food voucher, and a Family Weekend t-shirt, with varying levels of extra perks that include reserved event seating, additional merchandise, exclusive Outpouring access, and a ticket to Saturday’s prayer breakfast. Regent Law alumni and guests may register for corresponding Law Blue, Green, and Gold tiers, or for a standalone 40th Anniversary ticket. All attendees ages 5 and older must register for Family Weekend events.
