The Competent Community: The Ethics of Colleague (and Self) Care
Friday, November 15, 2013
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This two-hour professional ethics workshop will address the competence obligation for professional psychologists. Psychologists are ethically obligated to ensure their own competence. Moreover, they must take steps to correct competence problems when apparent; however psychologists are fallible and prone to errors in self-assessment. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to a communitarian approach to competence and collegial engagement with a specific focus on constructing a personal competence constellation.
