Assistant Professor, Government, History and Criminal Justice
While his direct male Grimm line goes back to the southwestern German state of Baden in the 1500s (but no, he is not related to the brothers), Dr. Kevin Grimm is originally from the wind-swept plains of Bowling Green, Ohio. After teaching several courses as a graduate student and participating in the Contemporary History Institute at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, he fulfilled a one-year visiting position at Beloit College in Wisconsin before coming to Regent.
Grimm's dissertation and subsequent work explores the various relationships between the Dwight D. Eisenhower administration, the early civil rights movement, international labor organizations, and African nations, most often Ghana, during the 1950s and 1960s. He has published several book chapters, and his articles have appeared in the Journal of Contemporary History and OFO: Journal of Transatlantic Studies. Grimm and his wife live in Virginia Beach.
