In a ceremony at Fort Belvoir, Va., Regent University agreed to a strategic partnership with Defense Acquisition University (DAU), whose mission is to train the Department of Defense acquisition workforce throughout all career stages.

Signed on Tuesday, March 22, the partnership provides advanced standing for graduates of the DAU program manager's course who enroll in Regent's master's in organizational leadership or master's in government (public administration) programs. Various other DAU courses will also transfer for credit toward Regent graduate and undergraduate courses.

Dr. Bruce Winston, dean of the School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship (GLE), represented Regent at the signing. "Regent University's School of Global Leadership is pleased to participate with the DAU in this partnership," he said. "Regent gains qualified students and future graduates who are strategically positioned to enact Regent's motto Christian Leadership to Change the World.

"DAU gains access to an additional education institution that adds a rich and diverse set of opportunities for their students. This is an example of how two great institutions, working together, create a whole stronger than the sum of the parts," Winston continued.

"This partnership allows DAU to expand the number of colleges and universities that provide outstanding learning opportunities for our workforce," explained Wayne Glass, professor of systems acquisition management and program director for strategic partnerships for the DAU. "It specifically enables our workforce members to achieve their educational goals with a military-friendly university and helps them to meet their Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act certification requirements."

"We are honored to be able to recognize our military and federal civilian students' professional achievements and we are privileged that they have chosen Regent University to take their leadership to the next level and become Christian leaders to change the world," added Regent's director of military affairs, David Boisselle.
