Regent University Introduces World-Class Training for Worship Leaders, Church Musicians, and Media Technicians
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Aug. 28, 2023) – Regent University recently launched a new Institute of Music & Worship to equip musicians and worship leaders with the ability to transform lives through music ministry.
The Institute of Music & Worship is offering new training sessions for church musicians and worship leaders, as well as specialized instruction using cutting-edge technology for sound design and media support. Classes are 8-weeks long, beginning on Monday, September 23, 2023, at Regent University.
“Worship leaders are called to a level of excellence first, because God is worthy. Secondly, because music is integral to the worship atmosphere,” said Gary Spell, Director of the Institute of Music & Worship. “A congregation should be led in a way that keeps the focus on the move of God.”
Training sessions are tailored to enrich the performance quality and technical competence of worship leaders, musicians, and media technicians. Students can choose from the following 12 classes:
- Introduction to Piano
- Intermediate & Advanced Electric Guitar
- Introduction to Music Directing
- Acoustic Guitar for Beginners
- Worship Leadership
- Introduction to Drums & Percussion
- Techniques for the Voice
- Introduction to Bass
- Keyboard Soundscapes
- Introduction to Ableton Live
- Introduction to Pro Presenter Technology
- Introduction to Audio Mixing Production
Training sessions meet once per week for 8 weeks. The sessions are open to individuals ages 14 and up on a first-come, first-served basis. These affordable non-degree training sessions do not offer college credit, so you do not have to apply to Regent University.
