Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28 Regent University Chapel partnered with the Christian Broadcasting Networks (CBN) annual week of prayer services.

Christian leaders from around the nation came to speak during the special week of chapel services dedicated to praying for CBN’s partners and friends.

The weeklong event featured worship, a time of dedicated prayer, and messages from guest speakers such as Robby Gallaty, pastor of Long Hollow Baptists Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee; Daniel Kolenda, president of Christ for All Nations; and Christy Wimber, senior pastor of Yorba Linda Vineyard Church, in Yorba Linda, California.

On Thursday, April 27, founder of Hobby Lobby, David Green spoke with the intertwined Regent and CBN communities. While leading the largest craft retailer in the world, worth 4.6 billion dollars, and the author of Giving It All Away…And Getting It All Back Again, Green encouraged the community by explaining his life was made complete by one thing alone – keeping his foundation in Jesus Christ.

Green believes the life of a Christian, founded by Christ, is marked by: a great marriage, a Godly family and good work. He explained that money and success mean little if a believer’s life isn’t set by these three markers.

“Make a decision that you’ll be different from the rest of the world,” said Green. “After you make your marriage a priority, the second big thing is to live your faith as a family: live what you believe. Pray together, worship together, forgive together and apply God’s principles in your home.”

Green explained that in addition to family and marriage, God has a calling on the believer’s life.

“I know some of you are questioning your calling, but the Bible has already told us it’s ‘whatever.’ The Bible says whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might,” said Green. “Your job is to be faithful with whatever God has put in front of you. If it’s flipping hamburgers, do it with all your might. If it’s being a pastor, do it with all your might.”

The final chapel service on Friday, April 28, featured Regent University Founder, Chancellor and CEO Dr. M.G. “Pat” Robertson. His message called for a unified America, and a charge for the Regent and CBN communities to pray for God’s sovereignty to continue.

“Right now we ought to pray. We ought to believe that we have access to the throne of grace. We are children of the living God – the one who died and is risen again,” said Robertson.
