Katelyn Tollefson, Psy.D.

Bio

Dr. Katelyn Tollefson is an assistant professor in Regent University’s School of Psychology & Counseling. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Evangel University followed by her master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology from Regent University. She completed her internship at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital where she provided children, adolescents, and families inpatient and outpatient services. She went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Child Advocacy Center, providing trauma-focused treatment to minors presenting with a history of child maltreatment and trauma-related symptoms.

As she returns to Regent University, Katelyn hopes to bring her growing knowledge and experience in working with children and adolescents, specifically those of underserved populations and who have experienced trauma, to the PsyD program. She seeks to provide teaching and training centered around this developed expertise to foster the growth of outstanding future psychologists, leaders, and people of God. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outside with her family and friends, going for walks with her dogs, and trying new foods.
