Student life at Regent helps you develop friendships that make you stronger and Christ-centered character that helps you embrace your purpose and serve with vision.

Below, you’ll learn more about Regent’s online bookstore, gift shop, flexible on campus housing options, and comfortable college dining facilities.

SUPPORT

At Regent, students, professors and staff come alongside each other to form a spiritual family. A diverse community of people from many denominations, cultures, backgrounds and callings comprise this family, all with an intentional focus on our shared Christ-centered values. Regent provides a number of opportunities for spiritual growth as well as well-being.

Chapel

Students, faculty and staff meet in the Shaw Chapel for a time of fellowship, worship and God’s Word at noon every Wednesday. Chapel features multi-denominational worship for students and faculty; allowing for many Christian faith traditions to be represented through creed, music and guest speakers. University Chapels can be watched live!

Unchapel

The student body meets for UnChapel in the Shaw Chapel, creating a vibrant community of faith, hope and love for all Regent students — both undergraduate and graduate. UnChapel is a unifying worship experience with modern worship music, relevant teaching and an opportunity for prayer ministry at the end of each service. It is a Christian college experience that you will not want to miss! Regent students, faculty and staff are invited to watch some of our past chapels.

Connect Groups

Life is better together!

If accountability, discipleship and Christian leadership are important to you, Connect Groups will encourage your spiritual vitality. Our leaders undergo extensive training and receive ongoing support through Campus Ministries. Connect Groups are available to residential and commuter students. Contact ministry@regent.edu for more information.

Service Outreach

Campus Ministries offers service opportunities to equip and encourage our students to reach out and become involved in the community. For more information, please email ministry@regent.edu.

Life Coaching

Life Coaching is an opportunity for students to “discover out loud” what God has already placed within them. Regent’s certified coaches help them to explore the change God has initiated, identify and overcome challenges, and put a plan into action. We want our students to be everything God created them to be.

Counseling

Regent Counseling Services provides free professional counseling to Regent students at the Virginia Beach campus. Services include individual counseling, group counseling, pre-marital/marriage counseling, assessments, and psychoeducational workshops.

Color Run

Regent University Color Run

A great way to kick off the school year! Hosted by the Student Activities Board (SAB), the Color Run is a 5K that starts near the Communication & Performing Arts Center and takes participants across Regent’s beautiful campus. Along the way, students get covered in colorful powder. Supporters are welcome to cheer from the sidelines and the finish line. This event is open to all Regent students, faculty, staff, and their families.

Christmas ball

Operation Christmas Child

One of Regent’s oldest and most favorite traditions. The dance, hosted by the SAB Traditions committee, typically is held in Robertson Hall on the Saturday following the end of the fall semester. A live swing band kicks off a fun and festive vibe for swing and ballroom dancing during the first half of the evening. Then a DJ takes over, playing current hits, as students dance the night away. This event is open to all Regent students (undergrad, graduate, and law) and a “plus-one” who does not have to attend Regent. However, the plus-one must also have his or her own ticket.

choral concerts

Regent University Spring Concert

Celebrating the seasons. Each Christmas and spring, Regent’s music program proudly presents music performed by the Regent University Choir, Chamber Choir, The Regent University Singers, and First Edition. These ticketed events, typically held in December and early May, are open to the public. Regent students receive a discount with student I.D.

Harvest Fest

Regent University Harvest Festival

Pumpkinpalooza! Typically held in mid-October, the SAB Traditions committee hosts Harvest Fest outside, next to Dede Robertson Student Center. Harvest Fest is a carnival-style event with all kinds of fall-inspired activities, such as pumpkin decorating, a cakewalk, a live DJ, and free chili! This event is open to all Regent students (undergrad, graduate, and law).

Law Alumni & Friends Weekend

Regent University Law Weekend

A premier opportunity for Regent Law alumni, local attorneys and distinguished guests to engage in high-quality continuing legal education. Hosted by the School of Law each fall, this event, held in various venues on Regent’s beautiful campus, includes a moot court competition, CLE classes led by prominent attorneys and judges, and social events for the whole family.

Night of Worship (NOW)

Regent Night of Worship

Uniting community and campus for worship led by respected artists. Held throughout the year, NOW is held in Regent’s Shaw Chapel, with the goal of seeing authentic, passionate praise rise from the Hampton Roads Community. Regent has hosted some of the leading worship artists of today, such as Housefires, UPPERROOM, John Mark McMillan, Cory Asbury, Phil Wickham and Kim Walker-Smith. Our worship nights are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended at regent.edu/now. We encourage our community to join us as we worship together in unity.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Giving back during the most wonderful time of the year.
Each Christmas season the Regent community unites to help make Christmas special for underprivileged children around the world. Regent students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to join the Student Alumni Ambassadors to donate gifts through the non-profit organization Operation Christmas Child. Donation boxes are filled on campus and sorted for the annual Packing Party held in the Library Atrium with Christmas music, cookies and cider!

Regent’s Got Talent

Regent Showcase Dancers

A full-on production featuring Regent’s most talented students. Hosted on the Main Stage of the Dede Robertson Theatre, our campus gathers to watch fabulous hosts showcase performers of all kinds. Dancers, singers, actors, and even yo-yo trick artists have dazzled the stage! It’s an upbeat and lively event where students are treated as if they’re in a Broadway show. The event is open to all Regent students. (Performers may invite non-Regent audience members with pre-approval by SAB.)

Regent Con

Regent Con Spring Fest

A sci-fi/anime/fantasy convention drawing hundreds of fans of all kinds. It’s unlike any other opportunity on campus! This event includes interactive workshops, costume contests (judged by renowned cosplayers), live combat demonstrations, food trucks, a live DJ, and an all-star guest speaker. Hosted by the Regent Con committee, sponsored by SAB and OSAL, Regent Con is open to the public for cosplayers, fans, families, and vendors. Regent student discount available.

Spuds With Buds

A female student and a male student stand behind a table passing out containers of french fries to students for Spuds With Buds — A Valentine's Day celebration!

A celebration of love for others, marked by crisp french fries. A new take on an old tradition. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your friends! Come join SAB as they offer free french fries to on-campus students. Hang out in the Commons lobbies with your buddies and create Valentine’s Day cards for senior citizens. Spuds With Buds is a great way to spend time with your community and help the community in the Hampton Roads area.

Ultimate Frisbee Tournament

Getting outside is a regular part of everyday life at Regent. Besides the official Regent Royals intercollegiate sports team, there are several ways to be active outside. One is the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament hosted by the Intramural Sports Board (ISB). The tournament requires no previous experience. Meet new people and have a fun afternoon at Robertson Field.
