Media Services

As part of the IT department, Media Services provides technology support to the faculty and staff of Regent University. The department is committed to supporting Regent University's academic technological needs now and in the future.

Studio Reservations:

To reserve a time block at one of our studios, please log in using Internet Explorer to view the available time slots via the two calendar links below. Following viewing, please email avproductions@regent.edu with the desired time slot, date, and details:

View Studio A Calendar (Formerly known as the Focus Group Room)

This studio that our technicians use for a variety of both video and audio recordings. The room is also utilized for Focus Groups.

View Studio B Calendar

This studio is our most recent studio. It's primary use is for recording video for academic lectures and other University video needs.

 

Media Services Hours and Policies


Normal Hours of Operation:

  • 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM (Mon thru Fri)
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Sat)
  • Sunday Not Available

All events starting before, ending later or occurring outside the normal working hours will incur a service charge of $35 hr.

Requesting Support:

  • All events require the submission of the above listed Equipment Request Form. Upon receipt of the form, Media Services will review the request and recommend equipment to make your event happen. If you feel that the recommended media is insufficient, you may request additional cameras or mics at the following rates:
    • Extra camera (with technician to run the camera) is available for $35 hr.
    • Extra mics are available for $10 each.
  • Live Streaming - You must have at least 5 guaranteed online viewers in order to qualify to have your event live streamed.
  • Visual Displays are not available in the Library Atrium before sunset.
  • The large outdoor screen is not available for events that do not have a reasonable expectation of around 500 people.

Late Requests and Cancellations:

  • For Media Services requests submitted fewer than 10 business days in advance for events or 3 business days in advance for classes, there will be a $50 late request fee charged to your school, department, or organization.
  • For last minute cancellations/re-schedules (12 hours or less) or failure to communicate a cancellation/re-schedule to Media Services, the following fees will be charged:
    • $25 - For classes, any events that require audio or video records, or events that require a technician to assist with setup.
    • $15 - Projector and Spiderphone setups.

Video Editing and Duplications:

  • All events requiring video editing will be reviewed and edited by our staff. Upon completion of the project editing (as determined by our staff) additional editing can be done on your project at the rate of $35 hr.
  • Media Services does not do personal duplication projects.
  • Depending on the amount of duplications needed, academic duplications will either be done by Media Services (small orders) or they will be outsourced and charged accordingly.
  • Turnaround time for requested jobs depend on the current work load. Call x4514 or x4674 for an estimated turnaround time.

Charging Policy for Media Services
Regent groups (outside business hours)

  • No media fee for the room.
  • We charge for the operator from the start time of the event to start of normal business hours, and/or from end of business hours to end of the event. ($35/hr per technician.)
  • Any portion of an hour is charged as an hour.
  • Extensive events (requiring multiple operators and/or long setup or strike time) may be subject to additional fees.
  • Special requests such as removing the drum set from the stage in the Chapel must be indicated in the equipment request form. A fee for labor will apply regardless of business hours.
  • Media Services will only record events for Regent University use.

Outside Group

  • Charged the media fee for the room.
  • No equipment fee.
  • $45/hr per technician (from set up to strike. This does not apply to help calls)
  • Special requests such as removing the drum set from the stage in the Chapel must be submitted in writing. A fee for labor will apply regardless of business hours.
  • Additional audio/video support is not available in the Regent Ordinary.
  • No recording.

Regent Hosted Outside Groups

  • Charged the media fee for the room.
  • $35/hr per technician, if needed. (from set up to strike. This does not apply to help calls)
  • Special requests such as removing the drum set from the stage in the Chapel must be submitted in writing. A fee for labor will apply regardless of business hours.
  • No additional charges for extra equipment.
  • Media Services will only record events for Regent University use.

Outdoor events

  • Add a 25% charge to the labor fee.

Chapel Events

  • Special requests such as removing the drum set from the stage in the Chapel must be indicated in the equipment request form. A fee for labor will apply regardless of business hours.
  • After hours fees may apply to events that do not require an operator.
  • Other sound systems are not allowed in the Chapel.
  • Please contact the Media services coordinator at avmedia@regent.edu for specific Chapel fees.
