Course Requirements:
Human Resource Development Major

• Completion of 48 credit hours of required courses plus a 0-credit-hour library research course, a 0-credit- academic writing seminar and the 0-credit-hour capstone course.
• Completion of a minimum of 12 credit hours of dissertation, including the completion of all requirements associated with the doctoral dissertation, including oral defense.
• Successful completion of the comprehensive exams following the student's coursework.
• Completion of all requirements associated with the doctoral dissertation, including oral defense.
• PhD students must maintain enrollment in each of the three trimesters (fall, spring, summer) per year. Students who do not register for a semester indicate a decision to withdraw from the PhD program.
  • Students in their coursework phase may register for LPHD865 - 1 credit of dissertation continuation, rather than a course, to maintain continuous enrollment.
• A student may request a one-year leave of absence from the program, thus removing the need to be enrolled, for the following reasons:
  • Medical/physical incapacitation due to illness or injury - either of the student or the student's spouse, for which the student is the caregiver.
  • Loss caused by natural disaster such as hurricane or tornado.
  • Military deployment to a warzone
