Italy Trip For Trauma and Safeguarding Studies

April 21 – 27, 2024 (at capacity)

Trip highlights include: Presenting on trauma to international students in Rome, biking at Lucca, a chocolate factory tour in Perugia, and a cooking class in Florence.

  • There are only 20 spots for this trip and they will be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis based on the deposits paid.
  • Cancellation Policy: this is a nonrefundable deposit. The final payment will be due at the beginning of the Spring semester and will be paid for students on their student account.
  • You will need a US passport for this trip. If you do not have a US passport, you will need a VISA.
  • This trip will include high mobility including walking, steps, and bike riding.

Open to Doctoral-level students & part of the Safeguard elective course.

$3,822.50 (All-inclusive airfare, hotels, 15 meals, transportation, set tours/activities)

$200 non-refundable deposit needed to secure your spot (max 20 people).

$340 may be reimbursed to students after the trip if prices do not increase before school deposit and if there are no unforeseen expenses on the trip.

CES 675 Safeguarding: Prevention of Trauma in the Church

This doctoral-level course will provide conceptual knowledge on historic and current issues related to sexual trauma in the church. There will be an emphasis on safeguarding advocacy and prevention. Students will have an opportunity to travel to Italy at the end of the semester to present on trauma with other international safeguarding students.
