Academic Background and Supplemental Questionnaire for Graduate Applicants to the School of Education (rev. 8/17)
Please answer the following questions to aid the admissions committee in rendering a decision regarding your application for admission to Regent University.

As an applicant to one of our graduate or doctoral programs, you have already completed a previous degree or will prior to your enrollment with us, if admitted. Thinking back on your most recent or current degree program, please describe your overall grade performance.
I earned A’s in almost all classes (typically 3.5-4.0 GPA)
I earned mainly B’s and a few C’s in classes (typically 2.75-3.4 GPA)
I earned mainly C’s in my classes (typically 2.0-2.74 GPA)
I earned mainly D’s or failing grades (typically 0.0-1.9 GPA)
The following questions will aid the admissions committee in evaluating your goals for your chosen degree program and the reasons behind your application to Regent. Please answer each question with the minimum sentence requirement indicated, offering the most important details you would want the committee to consider in their review.
In two or three sentences, describe your professional/academic experiences and career goals and how graduate/doctoral-level coursework from the School of Education will help you facilitate your objectives.
Explain the foundation of your beliefs and values, including the specific ways that your daily life and regular activities reflect those beliefs and values. Please be specific - responses should be three to four sentences.
In two to three sentences, please describe what led you to apply to this type of program, and why you would choose to do it at Regent if afforded the chance.

Desired Course: ETSL 510 - Linguistics; Section 03
Description: Provides an introduction to the study and analysis of phonology (sound), morphology (word formation) and syntax (grammar) in human language. Focuses on English, but comparisons will be made to other languages.
Course Load: Part-time
