S.T.A.R.T. Safe

Regent University is deeply committed to promoting the health and safety of all Regent students, faculty, and staff. The S.T.A.R.T. Safe program supports a safe and healthy campus by promoting personal and community responsibility to protect against COVID-19 and other illnesses, including cold and flu viruses.

S.T.A.R.T. Safe Guidelines

Self-Screen: Whether COVID-19, the flu, or other illnesses, be aware of your symptoms and wisely assess them.

Test Symptoms: Students and employees are encouraged to take advantage of federal COVID-19 test distribution programs and keep a few rapid tests at home or in the residence halls. COVID-19 tests are also available at local pharmacies and online.

Act Responsibly: If you test positive for COVID-19, act responsibly by staying home or staying in your housing assignment and continue to consult CDC guidelines. Students should contact Student Services at stusrv@regent.edu. If you have additional questions about Regent policies regarding COVID-19, students may contact Student Services and employees may contact Human Resources.

Remain Faithful: Continue to pray and ask God for protection for our campus and our community.

Transition to Normal: As we move forward, let’s aim to return to normal and enjoy the lives God has given us.

What is the effective date for the S.T.A.R.T. program?

S.T.A.R.T. Safe will go into effect on August 1, 2022. The Regent Ready: COVID-19 Preparedness Plan will end on July 31, 2022.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

Students and employees are welcome to wear a face mask if they so choose. Face masks are not required.

Do I need to be vaccinated for COVID-19?

Regent University does not require students or employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19.

What if I test positive for COVID-19?

If you test positive for COVID-19, please isolate in place and quarantine from others in accordance with CDC guidelines. Students must contact Student Services at stusrv@regent.edu. Students who live in campus housing may be required to move temporarily to a special reserved isolation unit.

Will Regent still have a Health Center?

Regent will continue to have a full-time nurse practitioner on-site to assist on-campus students with basic medical needs.

Will classrooms have limited seating capacity?

All classrooms will resume normal seating capacity.

Will the theater resume normal operations?

Regent anticipates no restrictions for theater capacity in Fall 2022.

Do international students have any other requirements?

There will be no unique protocols for international students in Fall 2022.

Will athletics have different policies?

Regent University athletics will adhere to health and safety protocols set forth by its athletic conference. For some games, COVID-19 requirements may be adjusted to comply with policies of competitor schools.

Could the S.T.A.R.T. policy change?

Regent University will continue to monitor ongoing developments pertaining to COVID-19 and other health and safety concerns. Regent University will update policies in accordance with state and federal requirements.
