Cheryl Beauchamp, Ph.D.

Bio

Dr. Cheryl Beauchamp brings a career built at the intersection of STEM, computer science, engineering, and AI literacy to Regent University’s School of Education. She serves as Director of the Undergraduate Teacher Education Programs, Director of the Career Switcher Program, and STEM Concentration Lead for the M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.

Dr. Beauchamp’s background as a Software Engineer, Technical Project Manager, K-12 STEM Educator, Founding Chair of Regent’s Engineering and Computer Science Department, and Director of its Institute for Cybersecurity connects industry, higher education, and K-12 teaching in her preparation of future educators.

Before academia, Dr. Beauchamp worked across the computer science field, writing banking software, designing military systems, and managing online solutions for newspaper corporations. Her transition into education began with her children’s love of LEGO bricks and her sense of God’s calling on her life.

An award-winning scholar, she researches student and teacher motivation in STEM education and explores AI literacy in teaching and learning. Her leadership includes securing ABET accreditation, CAE designation, and serving as Principal Investigator on a National Security Agency grant.

Dr. Beauchamp is committed to walking alongside those called to teach, guiding them as they prepare to become Christian Leaders to Change the World. She finds purpose in equipping future educators to bring both academic excellence and a heart for servant leadership into their classrooms, answering the call Jesus modeled to lead by serving others.
