Spiritual Life at Regent

When you become a Regent student, you join more than an academic community. You become part of a spiritual family. Students, professors and staff come alongside each other, supporting, encouraging and challenging growth in our relationship with God. A diverse community of people from many denominations, cultures, backgrounds and callings comprise the Regent family, all with an intentional focus on our shared Christ-centered values. That’s what makes us strong as we strive toward excellence in our studies, our work and our service to others.

Whether you’re studying online or on campus, you will find many ways to participate in the spiritual community at Regent. We invite you to experience the presence of God with Regent as you dive in fully to worship, pray, study, serve and connect. Below, explore Campus Ministries, Chapel, Outreach Opportunities and more.

Campus Ministries

Every student is on a spiritual journey. Regent University Campus Ministries hopes to accompany and encourage you along the way. As believers, we are called to learn how to walk, talk and think more like Jesus in every aspect of life. Ultimately, we want to embark on the journey of growing into the image of the Son.

Vision: To be a catalyst that inspires every Regent student to live for the glory and kingdom of God

Mission: Campus Ministries fosters Christian community, cultivates spiritual  growth, and equips students to fulfill The Great Commission for every vocation.

Theme for the Year: ‘Proclaiming the Gospel with Boldness’ from Acts 4:31 (NIV) “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”

Annually every Fall, Campus Ministries sponsors a Church Connection Fair on campus to introduce Regent students to some of the local churches in Hampton Roads. Due to COVID-19, this event was canceled this year. Campus Ministries is presenting a church guide of some of the local churches in the area.

This catalog represents only a few of the wonderful churches in the area, so please don’t be limited to this catalog only. It is our desire for out-of-state students or students without a church home to be connected to excellent ministries in our local area. Campus Ministries would also like to extend our special thanks to all participating ministries.

Chapel

Wednesdays at 12 p.m. – Students, faculty and staff meet in the Chapel for a time of fellowship, worship and  God’s Word. Chapel features trans-denominational worship for students and faculty; allowing for many Christian faith traditions to be represented through creed, music and guest speakers.

Thursdays at 8 p.m. – The student body meets for UnChapel in the Chapel, creating a vivacious community of faith, hope and love for all Regent students — both undergraduate and graduate. It is a Christian college experience that you will not want to miss!

University UnChapels can be watched by Regent students, faculty and staff live at www.regent.edu/unchapellive.

Life Groups

Life is better together! Regent’s Life Groups are small groups designed to provide a place for you to find a deeper level of connection with fellow undergraduate students. Led by students, for students, these gatherings offer prayer, worship, friendship and discussion.

If accountability, discipleship and Christian leadership are important to you, Life Groups will encourage your spiritual vitality. Our leaders undergo extensive training and receive ongoing support through Campus Ministries. Life Groups are available to undergraduate residential and commuter students.
