Campus Ministries 2026
With the Fall 2026 semester in full swing, Regent University’s Campus Ministries department, led by a new Executive Director, is launching a new season of worship, discipleship, and outreach for students, faculty, and staff. From weekly services in Shaw Chapel to Community Groups meeting on and off campus, Campus Ministries invites the entire community to dive into a year of spiritual growth, authentic community, and living out the year’s guiding theme, “Called by Love. ”Regent University began the academic year by welcoming Pastor Paul Lackie as Executive Director of Campus Ministries. Lackie brings nearly 25 years of ministry experience, including two decades as Vice President of Frontline International, where he led teams, planned conferences and outreach events, and trained believers in leadership development and biblical spiritual gifts, both in the U.S. and abroad. In his new role, Lackie will oversee the university’s chapel services and worship life, train and mentor Campus Ministries staff and student leaders, and partner with local ministries to expand outreach opportunities for Regent students “What I’m excited about the most,” said Lackie, “is what I’ve seen in nations all over the world: people being introduced to the walk of the Holy Spirit, beginning to learn who they are, and beginning to understand that God has given them supernatural gifts that can affect them in the marketplace, in their families, and in their homes.”“We believe Paul’s gifting and leadership will bring a fresh dimension to the spiritual life of our campus,” said Adam Williams, Ed.D., Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students at Regent University.

U.S. News & World Report 2027
Regent University has been named a Best National University and a Top Private College by U.S. News & World Report in its 2027 Best Colleges rankings, which assessed over 1,700 institutions nationwide in multiple categories. In addition, Regent received recognition as one of the Best Undergraduate Psychology Programs and as a Top Performer in Social Mobility Among National Universities. “Eight years of such recognition from U.S. News & World Report reflects Regent’s enduring commitment to offer a strong range of degree programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate level, to prepare students for influential careers,” said William L. Hathaway, Ph.D., Provost of Regent University. U.S. News ranked Regent University in four categories:- Best National Universities (#382- #422 ) For the eighth year, Regent was distinguished in the National Universities rankings, with an overall ranking in the #382- #422 tier for 2027. U.S. News assessed 422 U.S. bachelor’s degree-granting institutions in this category. - Top Private Colleges (#173- #190 )Regent was featured in a new ranking added for 2027, specifically for private colleges at the National University level. This additional ranking allows prospective students to conduct a more tailored search to find their best-fit school and features 190 private colleges. - Best Undergraduate Psychology Programs (#570- #676 ) This ranking was determined through a peer assessment by deans and faculty members from undergraduate psychology departments across the United States, who rated the academic quality of peer institutions’ psychology programs. A total of 676 programs were included.- Top Performers on Social Mobility Among National Universities (#273 ) The social mobility ranking measures the extent to which schools enroll and graduate students who receive federal Pell grants. 2026 Great College to Work For®
For the 18th year, Regent University is being recognized as a Great College to Work For®, receiving top-tier Honor Roll status in nine of the 10 recognition categories for 2026.
The results, published in The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff — with employee feedback being the primary factor. Of 171 colleges and universities, 76 achieved the Great College to Work For® recognition for specific best practices and policies, and only 42, including Regent, were named to the Great Colleges Honor Roll for being highlighted most across recognition categories.2026 marked the seventh year that Regent has earned the Honor Roll distinction, demonstrating continued dedication to its faculty and staff by winning honors in the following nine categories:- Job Satisfaction & Support- Mission & Pride- Faculty & Staff Well-being- Compensation & Benefits- Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness - Shared Governance- Professional Development- Confidence in Senior Leadership - Faculty Experience “I’m grateful for the consistent recognition as a Great College to Work For® with Honor Roll status,” said Bonnie Welch, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP, Vice President for Human Resources at Regent University. “It shows that a workplace shaped by faith is a workplace where people flourish. Executive Leadership Series (ELS) 2026-2027
On Monday, Sept. 14, Regent University launched the 2026-2027 season of its Executive Leadership Series (ELS) with a luncheon and discussion panel. The event, titled “Virginia Governors Discuss America at 250: Lessons of the Founders,” brought together four former governors of the Commonwealth for a wide-ranging conversation on leadership, the U.S. Constitution, and the enduring principles of America’s founding as the nation continues to celebrate its 250th anniversary. Prior to the panel discussion, Gordon Robertson, CEO of the Christian Broadcasting Network and Chancellor of Regent University, presented Regent University’s Executive Leader of the Year Award, recognizing outstanding leadership and service among the business and civic community in Hampton Roads. This year’s Executive Leader of the Year was Gold Key CEO Bruce Thompson, a prominent leader in the travel industry and vocal proponent of community service. The luncheon’s centerpiece was a panel discussion exploring the leadership lessons of America’s founders, featuring four Virginia governors: • Gov. Doug Wilder (1990-1994) • Gov. George Allen (1994-1998) • Gov. Bob McDonnell (2010-2014• Gov. Ralph Northam (2018-2022) The Honorable Robert MacDonald, Judge on the Chesapeake Circuit Court, 1st Judicial Circuit of Virginia, returned to the ELS forum as Panel Moderator. Drawing on their respective tenures as governors, the four leaders reflected on the principles that guided the nation’s founders, expanding on how those principles continue to inform effective leadership today. The next ELS luncheon, titled “Hampton Roads Rising: The Leaders Building Our Future,” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, 2027, at noon at the Founders Inn and Spa.
