Steps to Financial Aid
Step 1: FAFSA-on-the-Web
Obtain your FAFSA PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and enter Regent's School Code, which is 030913.
Visit Genisys for Steps 2, 3, & 6 :
- Visit Genisys.
- Click "Login to Genisys"
- Enter your Student ID and Pin.
Note - Central Financial Aid will send you a letter containing your Genisys ID and PIN once we receive your FAFSA. If you lost your Genisys ID and PIN or experience difficulty in accessing and using Genisys, contact the Office of Information Technology (IT) at 757-226-4076 or helpdesk@regent.edu.
Step 2: Document Requirements
(These requirements must be completed prior to Step 3 to receive financial aid.)

Step 3: Accept Financial Aid Awards
(These requirements must be completed prior to Step 5 to receive financial aid.)

Step 4: Complete Promissory Notes
Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for if you are a first-time borrower at Regent or if you have changed lenders. You will receive the promissory note directly from your lender, unless they offer it online. Immediately return the forms to your lender, you will not receive loan money until your lender has received your forms.
Step 5: Receive E-mail Confirmation of Loan Fund Arrival
The Central Financial Aid Office sends out an e-mail notification once loan funds have arrived. Please verify that your e-mail address is accurate in Genisys. Confirm that all requirements have been met in the “Student Requirements” page in Genisys.
Step 6: Receive Refund Check from the Business Office
Loan refunds are mailed from the Business Office on or after the first day of class if the student registered for their classes at least one week prior to the start of classes and they completed the loan process and their loan funds have arrived one week prior to the start of classes. Students may receive a refund check only if the student requested loan funds in excess of tuition and fees.
New Direct Deposit Option:
If you wish to receive your refund check through Direct Deposit, you will need to complete your Direct Deposit information on Genisys.
