Theatre, Film and Animation Camps Offer Mentorship for Young Students

By Sarah H. Dolan

January 30, 2011

Animation camp, new for 2009, joins theatre and film as featured programs for Regent University's 2009 Summer Creative Arts Mentorship Program (C.A.M.P), open to young students. True to its acronym, these summer programs offer more than just a class or a production—they provide an environment for young people to train, experience and excel in their art alongside professional mentors.

"My very first experience with Regent University Summer Camps was in 2005, said Beth Litwak, Summer C.A.M.P coordinator." "I had just arrived on campus as a new student and was preparing to audition for Twelfth Night. As I walked backstage, I noticed that a (youth) production was in progress. The atmosphere was electric. Feathers were flying, bright colors swarming and laughter echoing down the halls. This year I look forward to expanding and strengthening the programs that have been the solid foundation for the camp since its inception four years ago."
