Daniel C. Holland, Ph.D.

Bio

Dr. Danny Holland is an associate professor in Regent University’s School of Psychology and Counseling who is a therapist, a nationally sought-after speaker and published author. He has been featured on various media sources including the 700 Club. He is also the director of the Institute for Violence Research in the School of Psychology and Counseling. He has worked professionally with hurting children, adolescents and families for more than 32 years.

As the founder of Parent & Teen Universities, Inc., Holland has spoken to hundreds of thousands of individuals, teaching them how to strengthen their families and improve their lives. His programs have been endorsed by professionals ranging from directors of national parenting organizations to members of congress. He has served in many capacities, including a program developer for Commonwealth of Virginia, a consultant for the National Center for Safe Schools, a consultant for DARE America, and several other organizations.

Holland has also served in many mental health positions, including the director in intake at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center, Southeast regional director of therapeutic foster care at National Counseling Group, and many other clinical supervision and clinical director roles. Holland’s training program for working with children had been adopted by many states as the standard for their school-based law enforcement officers. He currently provides clinical services as a therapist at his practice, The Psychotherapy Center in Norfolk, Virginia.

Holland graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Counseling from Regent University. He went on to complete dual master’s degrees in community mental health services and school counseling from Regent. He earned his doctoral degree from Old Dominion University. Holland is a licensed professional counselor, a nationally certified counselor, board-certified telemental health provider and approved clinical supervisor.
