The Certificate of Graduate Studies in Nonprofit Management, offered online with no on-campus residency requirement, is a graduate-level certificate designed to enhance your nonprofit leadership abilities and provide practical application of values-based management within a variety of nonprofit organizations. With a shorter duration than a complete MBA or Master’s program, this certificate is ideal for working professionals. The certificate comprises four concentration courses from the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, as well as a library information research course.

  • Enhance your professional nonprofit leadership abilities with the practical application of values-based management in nonprofit organizations.
  • Enjoy a focused online curriculum specializing in areas such as fundraising, service delivery, and nonprofit ethics.
  • Focus on current trends and innovations in nonprofit management, including AI, social media messaging, and data analytics, to make yourself a key asset for a variety of organizations.

Students who complete the certificate program and wish to continue their studies may apply the credits toward the Master of Business Administration program, provided they are accepted. An additional 27 or 21 credit hours of coursework is required to complete the traditional or accelerated MBA degrees.

Please complete the Request Information form on this page to learn more about this program.

This certificate is designed to help advance your career as a fundraising manager, program director, executive director, development director, communications manager, or in other related roles.

NFP 631Principles & Techniques of Fundraising3
Explore fundraising as ministry and stewardship. Grounded in a Christian worldview, this course equips students to master the donor lifecycle, craft a mission-true case for support, design multi-channel solicitations, and steward gifts ethically in ways that honor donor dignity and advance kingdom impact. Students practice Spirit-led listening, gratitude disciplines, and prayerful discernment; complete solicitation role-plays; and produce a mini-campaign plan that models transparency, accountability, and generosity.
NFP 632Donor Analytics & Digital Fundraising3
Apply analytics and experimentation to increase giving while treating people as image-bearers, not data points. Topics include segmentation, RFM and CLV, propensity modeling, funnel design, A/B testing, SEO/ads/email, and SMS, with data governance, consent, and truthful communication at the core.
NFP 633Strategy, Marketing, & Partnerships3
Design growth strategies that keep mission-faithfulness central while creating value for stakeholders. Build campaigns that align brand, content, and channels; craft alliances with churches, networks, and institutions; and integrate advocacy or earned-income where appropriate — avoiding fear-based or manipulative messaging and championing stories that honor the imago Dei. Assessment includes a conversion-focused campaign and an ecosystem strategy brief.
NFP 634Nonprofit Financial Management & Grants3
Lead finance as faithful stewardship for sustainability, integrity, and compliance: ASC 958, Form 990 + Schedules, UBIT, endowment spending, restricted cash, and federal grants (2 CFR 200, Single Audit). Emphasizes truth-telling, prudence, and honoring donor intent as expressions of Christian witness.

Rick Richardson, Ph.D., 2007 Organizational Leadership
“To the Big Four firm who insisted I'd need to drop out of my Regent doctoral program: I decided not to drop out. I completed my program (4.0 GPA), started my own firm and added multimillion-dollar organizations to my portfolio.”
Marissa Layton, Doctor of Strategic Leadership, 2020 Business Coach
“Thank you, Dean Gomez, for introducing me to the Executive Mentorship Program. It has blessed me greatly over my last 3 years in the DSL program. Mr. Walt Pilcher an amazing author and man of faith, helped me realize budding spiritual gifts and connect my spirituality to business endeavors. Dr. Katrina Thornton, a senior executive, helped me to consider what it meant to enter and engage with C-suite leaders challenging me to move from tactical leadership to systemic leadership. As a result of my interaction with these leaders I'm leaving this university grateful and mindful of the investment in helping me become a Christian Leader prepared to change the world.”
Derrick Rodgers, Doctor of Strategic Leadership, 2024 Mentee
“I am grateful for the mentorship I've received, which has been a transformative experience in my professional and personal growth. My mentor generously dedicated time to support and inspire me, offering invaluable perspectives that encouraged me to think outside the box. This guidance was crucial in helping me navigate my career options and prepare effectively for the job market. The mentorship program connected me with a professional who was genuinely interested in my success and also provided a platform for continuous learning and development. This experience has equipped me with practical tools and insights. I am deeply appreciative of this mentorship and the lasting impact it has had on my life.”
Iyad Arusi, MBA, 2023 Mentee
“The Executive Mentor Program was precisely what I needed to clarify my future. It broadened my perspective, inspired hope, and gave me a sense of purpose. Words can't fully capture how much this experience has influenced my professional goals, helping me define my current status and my future ambitions. I'm grateful to my mentor, Dr. Lenz, for his ongoing support and the resources provided to help me achieve my project goals. Thanks to him, I am on the verge of making a meaningful impact in my career as an entrepreneur educator.”
