Joseph J. Bucci, DBA*

Bio

Dr. Joseph J. Bucci’s career has spanned many seasons and roles, including a pastor, author, human resources director, director of training, professor, and consultant. He has over 20 years of experience in various Human Resources and Training roles, including five years as director of training for a large corporation in Philadelphia. He has also been an ordained minister for over 30 years.

Bucci received his Doctor of Business Administration from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. He is currently an associate professor of Business and chair of the Business, Leadership & Management Department within Regent University’s College of Arts & Sciences.

Bucci has a blog for which he writes at rediscoveringredemption.com, and he also promotes redemptive managerial behavior by following news feeds for his followers using his Twitter account @Re_Redemption.

Bucci has presented many papers on redemptive leadership behaviors and other research on the influence of faith on managerial decision-making at various conferences. His research has been published in the Christian Business Faculty Association proceedings and other venues.

Bucci’s first book, Redemptive Leadership: Offering Second Chances as a Value-Added Management Practice, was published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2016. His new book, Redemption Inc., was published in 2022 and shares the journeys of individuals who have had their productive lives taken from them; through a process of redemption and restoration, they were given an opportunity to start fresh.

Redemption Inc. explores that when these individuals seek—and find—help through freedom and restoration, the possibility of reemployment and a fresh start is needed. This is an opportunity for businesses to complete the cycle by providing employment for these redeemed persons to pursue their gifts and calling.

Bucci’s favorite roles, and those he enjoys most, are being a loving husband of 40 years to his wife, Debi, and a loving father of five amazing adult children.
