Charles Carman, Ph.D.
Bio
Dr. Charles Carman attended The King’s College in New York City, where he studied politics, philosophy, and economics. After a brief period of teaching in the Great Heart’s Charter schools in Phoenix, he went to Moscow, ID, to study languages and theology at New St. Andrew’s College. Afterward, he and his family moved to Maryland, and he received his Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America. There he studied church history, theology, and languages, especially Latin, Greek, and Syriac.
Dr. Carman’s research interests gather under a few headings: Syriac theology, Christology, early church ecclesiology, and metaphysics. Other research focuses on the nature of technology, its effects on politics, the church, and language. He also works on translating from Latin and Syriac. He enjoys reading aloud to his children, muttering bits of some ancient language under his breath, reading silently, woodworking, reading plays and poetry with friends, and dancing.
