Convocation Ceremony
Wednesday, September 2, 2026 | 12:00PM - 1:15PM EDT
Our annual convocation tradition allows us to come together to dedicate the new academic year to the Lord. Throughout Scripture, we read about the practice of anointing designated people and places as holy unto the Lord and for use in His service (Exodus 30:26, 29). Anointing was integral to the consecration and ordination of the priesthood. As a recipient of anointing, each of us recognizes, “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him …” (1 Peter 2:9). Anointing at Regent is a picture of both commitment and empowerment. Usually, at the end of the service, leaders anoint and pray for each new faculty and staff member, as well as student leaders.
