A Step-By-Step Guide to Becoming a Regent Royal

So, you’ve decided to attend Regent. Now what? Here’s your one-stop shop for all the information you’ll need to become an official Regent Royal. Use the step-by-step process below to apply for your program and fulfill the requirements before your first class. Each step offers tutorials and explanations to clarify everything you need to do. Follow the prompts to ensure you get the proper financial aid, class registrations and materials you need.

WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE?

  • Online or On-Campus: You want to attend classes online or on campus in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Those transferring credits and international applicants also complete this application.
  • Early College: You are at least 16 years old, have completed at least the sophomore year of high school, and wish to enroll in college courses while attending high school.
  • Juris Doctor: You have obtained a bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue a professional degree in law.
  • Readmission: You were once a registered Regent student, but it has been more than a year (three semesters) since you’ve taken classes with us.

Once you’ve submitted your application, it’s time to submit your required documents and start your FAFSA.

SUBMIT YOUR Supplemental items

  • Upload your Unofficial Transcripts (High School and/or College) & a Government-Issued ID using the Admissions Supplemental Items Form.
  • If you do not have access to your unofficial transcripts, complete your Transcript Request Form to provide Regent permission to attempt to request your official transcripts from your previous institutions.
  • International transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES-approved company.

Complete the FAFSA

Take the time to complete the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) today using Regent University’s FAFSA school code 030913. This is the best first step in identifying aid options available to you. It can be completed entirely online and takes most applicants 30 minutes or less to complete.

Simply provide your permission for Regent to register you for your first semester courses, if you haven’t already, and we’ll get started on your paperwork.

Complete your Transcript Request Form to provide Regent permission to attempt to request your official transcripts from your previous institutions.

You’re almost there! Gaining a better understanding of the student portal is the next step in your journey. You’ll be accessing Genisys in your MyRegent Portal regularly as you navigate your courses and maintain a financial plan.

Check your personal email, if you haven’t already, for details on how to set up your Regent student account. Setting up your account – including your Regent email – ensures you won’t miss important communication regarding your student status. For help setting up your student account, watch this video. Your MyRegent Portal is your hub for all things Regent. Accessing your MyRegent Portal allows you to view your Regent email, access course planning resources and more. It also provides direct access to your online courses/resources.

What is Genisys?

Genisys is the self-service student portal where you can accept loan offers, view account summaries and balances, register for classes, enroll in direct deposit, and update personal and demographic information.

If you have received financial aid awards or scholarships, you’ll need to accept them. Watch this video to learn how.

To make sure you’re ready for classes, you’ll complete the required Semester Check-In (SCI) each semester to verify/confirm your course registration, view your account summary, review important dates, learn how to order your textbooks, and complete any financial obligations.

Order your books at least two weeks before your classes start to ensure a timely arrival and to avoid overnight shipping fees.

Walk through your degree requirements, view required classes and find out when they are offered. You can also check your current GPA.
