The Verizon Media Center (VMC) is located in the Library Commons area on the first floor of the Library. The VMC provides faculty and students with a dedicated place to experiment with and learn new media technologies such as Internet video, audio, and podcasting.

What is it for?
At the Verizon Media Center, you can explore audio and video technologies, learn how to shoot video, create enhanced podcasts, and learn how to edit. You can reserve an editing workstation online and check out training materials from the Library if needed. A video camera and digital still camera, lighting, green screen, and backdrops are also available for your use.

How does it work?
Let's say you need to complete a class project that includes a video presentation. You could sign on to an editing workstation in the Library, and check out some training videos about video and audio production. Then, when you're ready, sign out a video camera and head to the "shooting area" in the Library media room (or another location), where you film the brief presentation. Following the shoot, you would return to the editing station, edit the piece, export it, and post it online or burn to CD or DVD. It's that simple!
