Mission:
To assist aspiring servant leaders by facilitating access to financial and informational resources related to educational costs.
Ed Arce
Data Processing Coordinator
Ed has served as Client Support Services Coordinator since July 2006. His previous work experience at Regent University includes both the Bookstore and the Purchasing Departments. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of South Florida and is hoping to complete the Master of Divinity program at Regent University.
Deborah Brown
Student Loan Manager
Deborah has served as the Student Loan Manager since 2006 and was previously a Financial Aid Counselor since June 2004. She previously served as the Federal Direct Loan Coordinator at Hampton University. Prior to entering the financial aid profession, she worked with Wachovia Bank. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Pennsylvania State University.
Andrew Callo
Financial Aid Counselor
Andrew has served as Financial Aid Counselor since June 2005. He previously served as Student Loan/ Credit Representative and as an Associate Operations Representative with Bank of America. Prior to his roles at Bank of America, he served as the U.S. Airforce Band Composer/ Arranger/ Manager at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Andrew holds a Master of Music from North Carolina School of the Arts and a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Theory from James Madison University in Virginia.
Dotti Davidson
Associate Director
Dotti has served as Associate Director since March 2005. Before that Dotti served as Senior Financial Aid Counselor beginning in July 2003. She previously served as Financial Aid Counselor beginning in April 1999. She also served as Graduate Assistant from January to March 1999. Dotti has participated as an instructor at the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) New Aid Officers Workshop. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Humphreys College where she was an assistant in the Financial Aid Office. Dotti completed the Master of Business Administration program at Regent University in 2003.
Joe Dobrota
Director of Central Financial Aid
Joe joined the Central Financial Aid Office as Director in October 2005 after serving as Financial Aid Consultant with SunGard Higher Education of Malvern, Pennsylvania. Joe had previously been a member of the Central Financial Aid Office staff from August 1994 to January 2005. During that time, he served in the positions of Graduate Assistant, Counselor, Assistant Director, and most recently as Associate Director. He was a recipient of the Regent University Employee of the Month award in April 1997 and recipient of the President's Award for Excellence for the 2001 calendar year.
His professional activities include serving as chair of the Electronic Services Committee for the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) for 2008-09 as well as Public Relations Chair for the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA). He has previously served as Electronic Services Chair for VASFAA. He holds a MA in Public Policy from Regent University and a BA in Political Science from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania.
Sam Gibby
Financial Aid Counselor
Sam has served as Financial Aid Counselor since August 2007. Prior to Regent University, he served as Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Advisor at ECPI College of Technology at both their Virginia Beach and Newport News campuses beginning in July 2004. Prior to financial services in the education industry, Sam worked for six years in various research and customer support capacities at Great Southern Bank, a regional bank in Southwest Missouri. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and is expected to complete his coursework in his MA-Pre-doctoral Studies/Biblical Interpretation at Regent University School of Divinity in August 2009.
Judy Marroquín
Awarding Coordinator
Judy is the new Awarding Coordinator. Prior to this position, she has served as Senior Financial Aid Counselor and as Financial Aid Counselor beginning in March 2003. She joined Regent after serving as Assistant to the President of Semilla, Inc. and has served in the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices at Goshen College in Indiana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Goshen College.
Ashley Schoch
Document Control Specialist
Ashley has served the Central Financial Aid office as Document Control Specialist since September 2006. She is in her second year of studies at Regent University and plans to finish a bachelors degree in psychology by Fall 2009. She has previous document imaging experience from Focus Legal Solutions in Omaha, Nebraska.
Karen Tucker
Financial Aid Counselor and Service Specialist
Karen has served as Financial Aid Counselor since March 2006. Her previous role was that of Central Financial Aid's Customer Service Coordinator beginning in December 2005. She came to Regent from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania where she served for five years as Financial Aid Assistant Director, administering the Federal, Private and Parent loan programs. Previously, she worked with the Chester County Economic Development Council, a private economic development agency, as Assistant Loan Administrator. Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from South Dakota State University. In addition, she has also completed MBA courses at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania.
