Online Degree Overview
Regent's online Bachelor of Arts in English degree offers a comprehensive study of words and how they work in writing, language and literature. Online learning students consider a variety of expressions of the human imagination as these are understood in the contexts of history, ethnicity, culture, gender and interdisciplinary study. Through a range of study of the English language and literature, Regent University students have the opportunity to explore diverse human experiences and to better understand and articulate their own Christian worldview. An online bachelor's degree in English prepares students for a variety of careers by cultivating their skills in writing, critical thinking and communication.
English majors will take a range of courses in British and American literature, including Shakespeare, African-American Literature and The Religious Imagination in American Literature.
All online learning degrees offered to English majors are also available at our Virginia Beach, Va., college campus.
Students majoring in English will develop a strong foundation in literature and composition while gaining expertise in one of the following areas of emphasis:
