Undergraduate Minors

Should I Declare a Minor?

A minor at Regent University consists of a group of related courses taken outside of your academic major. A minor can show the extent of your passion and supplement your career path. Not only are minors an effective way to demonstrate your well-rounded college education to future employers, but it also  allows you to develop additional professional skills to  help you shine as a job candidate. Other benefits of a minor include the opportunity to explore a field of interest outside of your major and the ability to develop specialized skills—like fluency in another language or proficiency in information systems.

How Do I Pick a Minor?

You may want to choose a minor that complements your education and adds skills that increase your marketability. For instance, most students could benefit from adding business or leadership skills as part of their education. If you desire to work internationally or with non-English speakers, you may want to minor in a foreign language. There are numerous minor options for Regent University that allow you to customize your degree for the specific career you seek. To complete a minor, you will be required to complete 15 credits of specified courses in the subject area in which the minor is selected.
