Christian Education Emphasis and Teacher Certification from the Association of Christian Schools International.
The Christian Education emphasis is comprised of two elective courses within the Teacher Education Program. These two courses are distinct to Regent and offer students an opportunity to learn more about the unique nature and characteristics of Christian education. These courses (UIS 320 and UIS 325) are designed to equip students who choose to teach in Christian schools with a better understanding of the underlying theology, philosophy, theory, goals, and expectations of Christian education from a biblical perspective. Furthermore, this emphasis provides practical perspectives on faith/learning integration, classroom management, character development, and other areas of Christian education. Please note that these courses do not in themselves lead to state licensure, but must be taken as part of Teacher Education curriculum.
Students choosing this certification will complete one of two student teaching placements in a Christian School setting.
Completion of the IDS program with the Christian Education Emphasis provides eligibility for Teacher Certification from the Association of Christian Schools International.
