Prophetic Leadership: Foreseeing the Right Action in the Right Season

Abstract

Prophetic leadership exists as another type of leadership through Scripture and history. Prophetic leaders receive insight through natural or supernatural means to foresee the actions needed for the organizations they serve. A history of prophetic leadership operates in every generation. These leaders emerge to serve a unique purpose within all spheres of culture.

The prophetic leadership and strategic foresight blueprints are developed through an examination of the life of Joseph, practice of Jeremiah, and other Scriptures referencing prophecy, prayer, strategy, timing, and seasons. Then known historical and cultural examples of prophetic leaders parallel the Biblical blueprints to reveal how the life and practice of Joseph or Jeremiah mirror their personal life and impact.

The benefits of this project provide three practical applications. First, all leader types receive a better understanding of prophetic leaders and how they fit within the organization. Organizations include systems from small enterprises to entire nations, depending on the prophetic leader’s assignment and context. Second, current leaders possess a strategic foresight blueprint practical for use in both secular and sacred institutions. Third, this work enables current leaders to identify prophetic leaders and prepare them to assist positioned leaders. Additionally, leaders applying Biblical blueprints within their current systems empower their people and organizations to meet the demands of the future and achieve their full potential.
