Abstract

“Identifying Healthcare Trends That Impact Quality Patient Care” Analyzes five current trends in healthcare that impact the quality of patient care. The analysis in this body of work guides healthcare leaders about the positive and negative impact that these trends will have on their industry from an operations and patient care perspective. The five trends I analyzed are managing multigenerational workforces in healthcare, generative artificial intelligence, the level of patient trust, patient satisfaction with care and access, and retail health.

I conducted research using numerous scholarly sources to analyze these trends and to complete this body of work. I analyzed these five trends because it is essential to the evolution of healthcare delivery systems that healthcare leaders and professionals be aware of these trends and design, implement, and execute strategies to respond to them in ways that improve care delivery, ensure quality health services, and produce positive outcomes for patients. This body of work explores leveraging leadership, change management, strategic leadership, strategic planning, data analytics, human resource development, and intergenerational management to lead change efforts in healthcare.

“Identifying Healthcare Trends That Impact Quality Patient Care” Delivers strategic guidance and actionable steps for healthcare leaders. I include the benefits to the organization if they follow the recommendations and actionable steps, as well as the negative implications and outcomes that will occur for the organization, healthcare leaders, professionals, and patients if they do not take action.

These trends are essential to move healthcare into the future because effectively managing multigenerational workforces who will support the multigenerational patient populations and leveraging everyone’s talents is essential to continued success in healthcare. Integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare is happening, and healthcare leaders can be proactive about implementation and leverage it to modernize healthcare delivery systems. Patient trust is required to produce positive patient health outcomes. Patient satisfaction is essential because healthcare is a service industry, and retail health is shifting the paradigm of healthcare delivery systems.

Ultimately “Identifying Healthcare Trends That Impact Quality Patient Care” provides strategies healthcare leaders can execute to respond to the trends in a manner that will support population health, modernize the healthcare system, and improve patient care delivery systems.
