A Legacy That Multiplies: How One Couple’s Partnership Created an Impact That Keeps Growing

When Dr. Gary Oster joined Regent University’s faculty in 2005, it felt to him and his wife, Priscilla, like coming “home.” For nearly two decades, the couple was counted among Regent’s most dedicated partners. Month after month, they gave generously — through payroll deduction — investing in students they would never meet. Today, Priscilla continues that steadfast commitment.
For more than 15 years, Gary served as Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Regent’s School of Business & Leadership, where he poured into the lives of future Christian leaders. When he passed away unexpectedly in 2021, Priscilla faced a choice: let grief have the final word or channel their shared love for Regent into something eternal.
She chose to leave a legacy.
Priscilla established an endowed scholarship in Gary’s honor, awarded annually to “innovation-minded students.” A memorial bench outside his former office now invites students and faculty to pause, reflect, and remember.
But here’s what makes the Osters’ story even more remarkable: Priscilla’s support didn’t end with the scholarship. She remains committed to investing in the next generation — in eternity.
“When I view Regent’s legacy gifts, I see donors who wished to have an impact beyond their personal involvement,” Priscilla explains. “Gifts that grow continue to support what Regent is doing now, alongside current giving.”
That vision — giving that multiplies — grew from a lifetime of conviction. Gary brought decades of business, education, and ministry experience to Regent, including two years he and Priscilla spent serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Peru. Throughout their lives, they gave generously to Christian ministries they believed were truly making an eternal impact.
“The ultimate goal of Regent is to change the world into a more heavenly place and to deliver more souls into the kingdom of God, which is our Great Commission,” Priscilla says. “Donors investing in Regent contribute exponentially to the kingdom of God.”
