Regent University Appoints Adam Williams as Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (March 31, 2026) — The Regent University Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Adam Williams as Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students at Regent University, effective April 1, 2026.

“Dr. Adam Williams has demonstrated a Christ-centered commitment to the holistic development of students, and I am confident that in his new role as Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students, he will faithfully lead with excellence, innovation, and integrity,” said Gordon Robertson, Chancellor of Regent University. “I look forward to working together with Adam as we continue to cultivate a vibrant, Spirit-led community where every student is encouraged to grow in faith and purpose.”

“I am deeply humbled and honored to be appointed to this new role, recognizing the serious responsibility of serving and supporting our students in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord,” said Dr. Williams. “The Student Life team remains committed to providing comprehensive co-curricular programs and services that promote the holistic development of students and complement the University’s academic mission. I look forward to serving alongside our leadership team, faculty, and staff as we advance the mission and vision of Regent University and invest in the lives of our students.”

As Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students at Regent University, Dr. Adam Williams will oversee and support Athletics, Campus Ministries, Student Engagement, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Housing & Residence Life, Student Conduct, Coaching & Career Services, Dining Services, and Health Services. He will advance initiatives that support student engagement, retention, and holistic development across residential and online student populations.

With more than two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Williams has provided leadership across a wide range of student life functions, including community standards, student care, crisis response, and campus operations. He works closely with university leadership to advance Regent’s mission and to cultivate a vibrant, Christ-centered campus community.

Dr. Williams holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Regent University, a Master of Science from Radford University, and a Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University. He is an ordained minister through Vanguard Ministries.

Dr. Joseph Umidi, who previously served as Executive Vice President for Student Life, will continue to serve Regent University in a new role in the School of Divinity.
