Phil and the Screen Doors Cover Classics in Celebration of Independence Day

“We the people” are three words Americans everywhere have probably heard at least once. Opening the Preamble of the Constitution, the phrase preludes one of our nation’s most important documents.

Dubbed Phil and the Screen Doors, this trio of Regent University alumni celebrate the spirit of America in a covers of Schoolhouse Rock!’s “The Preamble”, an excerpt of the Avett Brothers’ “Will You Return” and John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads”.

The band includes Elizabeth Landon ’17 (CAS), Justin Montgomery ’18 (CAS) and Philip Reynolds ’17 (CAS).

Shot in the historic Freemason district of downtown Norfolk, Virginia — a port city that has served as a bloodline for trade in Virginia since the colonial era — the covers are a celebration of values rooted firm in American culture.
