Tidewater Winds Concert

Tidewater Winds returns to Regent University’s Shaw Chapel for its 2026 free concert series. This year’s concert is entitled “America 250: A Declaration for Independence” featuring Maestro John Brewington and guest narrator Jason Redman, USN, RT. This program celebrates the music of the American Revolution and the enduring symbols of our nation’s freedom, blending traditional patriotic favorites with original works—including the stirring piece “I Am the American Flag”. Through narration and imagery, this centerpiece composition traces the evolution of the American flag, from the banners that led colonial troops into battle to the Stars and Stripes that now wave as a beacon of liberty around the world.
You won’t want to miss the Hamilton Suite from the popular Broadway play “Hamilton”, and the Armed Forces on Parade, honoring our military veterans and currently serving men and women. And no Tidewater Winds concert is complete without Sousa’s rousing “Stars and Stripes Forever”.
