“If you loved last season’s Freud’s Last Session, you don’t want to miss The Christians,” said Eric Harrell, producing artistic director of Tidewater Stage. “The Christians is both epic and intimate, a gripping portrait of the moments that define who we are and what we believe.”

The Christians explores how faith can unite – or divide – a community, as it follows Pastor Paul, who has grown a modest storefront church into a megachurch of thousands. But, he’s about to preach a sermon that will change everything, shaking the foundation of his church, community and home.

Backed by a Gospel choir, The Christians was described by The New York Times as “a mesmerizing drama…a terrific play about the mystery of faith.”
