All-Star Darryl Strawberry to Speak at Regent University’s Night of Giving 2026: The Grand Slam
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 12, 2026) — On April 24, Regent University will host its 2026 Night of Giving: The Grand Slam, featuring an elegant evening of dining, a silent auction, and a powerful testimony of faith and redemption from baseball legend Darryl Strawberry. The second annual event will celebrate Regent’s expanding collegiate sports program and vision for campus growth.
Funds raised at the Grand Slam event will support the construction of Regent University’s state-of-the-art Athletic & Fitness Center, providing world-class facilities to help develop the next generation of world-changing leaders. The 31-acre sports complex will include a 2,000-seat NCAA championship arena; multi-sport stadiums, courts, and fields; a fully equipped sports medicine clinic; a weight room and fitness center; and an atrium with a café, student lounge, and banquet space.
The evening’s guest speaker, Darryl Strawberry, is a four-time World Series Champion, eight-time All-Star, and 1983 National League Rookie of the Year — a baseball powerhouse with a passion for sharing his faith and purpose.
“We’re not just building buildings — we’re building lives and investing in our students,” said Claire Foster, Executive Vice President of Advancement & Enrollment at Regent University. “Our new Athletic & Fitness Center will equip Regent students to pursue excellence, develop strong character, and compete at the highest levels while growing in faith and leadership. We look forward to welcoming alumni, supporters, and friends to the Night of Giving on April 24 for an evening that celebrates this exciting vision for Regent’s future.”
The 2026 Night of Giving event will be held on April 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Founders Inn and Spa. For tickets, sponsorship opportunities, and more information on how to give, visit regent.edu/grandslam.
