Have questions? We’ve got answers. Don’t see yours here? Contact us — we’re happy to help.

What is the Office of Academic Recovery?

We’re a support office dedicated to helping students succeed academically. We provide one-on-one coaching, resources, and guidance to help you reach your goals — whether that’s improving your GPA, staying on track for graduation, or developing better study habits.

Is this office only for students who are “failing”?

Not at all. We work with students at all levels. Some come to us because they’re facing specific challenges, but many work with us proactively to sharpen their skills and stay ahead.

Do I have to be a student-athlete to get help?

No. While we proudly support all student-athletes, we also serve undergraduate and graduate students, online learners, first-generation students, and anyone who wants academic support.

How do I start working with your office?

You can reach out directly by email or phone, or you may be connected with us through a referral from faculty, advisors, or coaches. Either way, we’re here and ready to help.

What’s the difference between Academic Recovery and Academic Advising?

Academic Advising helps you plan your degree path and register for courses. Academic Recovery focuses on helping you succeed in those courses — through coaching, study strategies, time management, and accountability. We work together as partners, so you always have comprehensive support.

Will working with your office show up on my transcript or record?

No. Our coaching is confidential support designed to help you succeed.

How often will I meet with my coach?

It depends on your needs. Most students meet with their coach weekly or biweekly, but we’ll build a schedule that works for you.

I’m an online student — can I still get support?

Absolutely. We work with online students through virtual meetings, email, and phone support.

Is there a cost for these services?

No. Our services are available at no additional cost to Regent students.

What if I’m embarrassed to ask for help?

Please don’t be. Asking for help is a sign of strength and self-awareness. Every successful person has had support along the way — let us be part of yours.
