In a ceremony at Fort Lee in historic Petersburg, Va., Regent University agreed to a strategic partnership with the Army Logistics University (ALU), whose mission is to enhance the readiness and sustainability of U.S. forces through training, education, consulting, and research in logistics, acquisition and operations research systems analysis.
Signed on Monday, April 25, the partnership provides advanced standing of up to twelve credit hours for graduates of ALU's courses who enroll in Regent's Master's in Organizational Leadership program. This program is housed in Regent's School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship (GLE).
Regent University President Carlos Campo represented Regent at the signing. "This agreement with ALU illustrates our determination to expand our military partnerships and signals our continued focus on serving those who have served our nation," he said.
"Regent University's Master of Organizational Leadership is a natural fit with ALU's degrees and programs," said GLE's dean Dr. Bruce Winston. "I look forward to a long history of working together for students' combined academic achievement."
Colonel Mark McCormick, president of ALU added, "The ALU partnership with Regent University for the attainment of the Master's in Organizational Leadership supports ALU's vision as the premier trainer and educator of sustainment leaders. The partnership provides a great opportunity for the students, faculty and staff—both military and civilian—to apply their experiences toward obtaining an advanced degree that will broaden their leadership skills thereby improving the organizations in which they serve. With six available concentrations, students can tailor this degree program to fit their unique desires and goals.
"The ability to complete the advanced degree though distance learning is in concert with Life Long Learning and offers the desired flexibility to support ALU's transient student population."
Since March 2010, Regent has signed four memoranda of understanding with military colleges and universities, including: Joint Forces Staff College, the Defense Information School, the Defense Acquisition University and the ALU.
"Regent is proud to partner with ALU to provide leadership education to the Army's finest sustainment leaders," said Director of Military Affairs David Boisselle. "We believe that our values dovetail nicely with Army core values, and we look forward to future mutual success via this partnership."
