| July 26, 2010

Regent University's Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling (HSC) is ranked the 14th most affordable online master's degree in Psychology & Human Services by GetEducated.com, LLC, in its 2010 national affordability rankings of online psychology schools.

The HSC program, led by director Dr. Amy Dominguez, is designed to equip individuals with valuable counseling skills for use in ministry, missions, or any other vocation where those skills are essential, but a license is not.

"HSC is a paraprofessional counseling degree," said School of Psychology & Counseling Dean Dr. William Hathaway. "The program is designed to meet a variety of needs in career paths that involve multiple settings. The degree draws a good group of students who have a vision for having real resources to meet the needs of people."

Regent University's online Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling costs approximately $19,350. By comparison, the reviewers discovered that the average cost of an online master's degree in psychology or human services is $23,266.

The online university affordability rankings are based on a comprehensive, independent survey of 35 regionally accredited universities in the nation that offer 72 online master's degrees in the career areas of psychology, human services or social science.
